(Day 100 !!) Ominous or hopeful ?

Supposedly, the world is made up of 2 kinds of people - the half-full glass kind and the half-empty glass kind. Also known as optimists and pessimists, or maybe idealists and realists. Seems a bit of a cut and dried division but I guess we all sometimes like to pigeon-hole people. In that case I like to think I belong to the first group.

The sky late today seemed to me to have some elements of both. The dark clouds looked ominous (the forecasters are calling for showers tonight) and yet there also are rays of sunshine - perhaps they will prevail, the clouds will pass, and we'll have a beautiful spring day tomorrow. I'm going to go with that. What do you think ?

I see the sun shining through those silver clouds, and I LOVE your attitude Rick! Even if it does rain tonight it is a blessing, first off it's not snow and secondly the earth needs the moisture. Tomorrow will look after tomorrow and no matter what the weather is outdoors, it's up to us if we choose to carry the rays of sunshine within us.

I can't get over this photo, this one I even called my niece over to take a look at, she LOVES it as well! Excellent shot!

Can you email me this photo? I can see a nice quote or scripture in the bottom left hand corner, pretty please? :-)

Rick, this really IS a fantastic shot! I can't get over it either.

I look at the glass half empty of the past, yet still half full of more to come.

P.S. Congrats on day 100! Only 265 to go! 266 if it was a leap year ;)

@Don - thanks for dropping by and commenting. Just checked out your blog - lovely shots and great variety.

@darlin - I like the way you think - positive. Yep - glad it wasn't snow either; we could always use the moisture (although we got quite a bit yesterday). Glad you both enjoyed the shot (see the Ansel Adams quote at the right).

Check your email.

I think you caught a beautiful moment in time whatever the weather decides to do ...

@Avery - thank you. And I think your glass is still (at least) 85% full! :)

Thanks for the p.s. - it's been a real challenge, but (sorry McDonald's) I'm lovin' it!

@S.Etole - thank you Susan (wow - commenting in real time! :)

Rain or no rain...this is a gorgeous photo Rick!
I absolutely love photos of the sky, clouds, sun etc ... there is so much beauty to be taken from photos such as this one. I love it! As a small child I used to refer to clouds like these(with sunrays filtering through)as Jesus clouds because they reminded me of the illustrations in the religious books at school.

They say that that particular cloud formation is not natural? It does make a beautiful shot though, doesn't it?

Rick said...

@darlin - it sure is! Give Him the credit and the glory.

@Katherine - thank you. I help prepare PowerPoint slides for our church services and use images like this as backgrounds for songs about God's glory. And now I have a new one to use :) I like the symbolism of 'Jesus clouds'.

@The Lucy and Dick Show - not sure what you mean by 'not natural' (?) I shot this late yesterday facing west right beside our house. As soon as I saw some rays peeking through the clouds I ran into the house to get my camera. I underexposed it a bit due to the glare from the sun. Glad you liked it - thanks for visiting and following.

Hey Rick...come on over to my place...I posted a few cloud photos that I took on the way home from our trip to the valley yesterday. They were absolutely amazing. I only posted 2 but I have many more!

@Katherine - on my way!

Looks like God coming out of the cloud! Gorgeous picture!

Rick said...

@Julia - I agree; I'll use it as a background in church one of these days!

Even though that sky looks threatening, it is an absolutely gorgeous photo! Found you through Darlin's blog...she posted a link because she loved the photo so much. I can see why.
