(Day 125) Don't pass me by ...

For almost 7 years (!) I've been driving past this particular area on my way to and from the town nearest to us (about 23 km / 14 mi). And do you know what I've said so often as I fly by ? One of these days I've got to stop and take some photos here! Ok, raise your hand all of you who've done the same thing. Now it's not that I didn't have my camera with me or that the opportunities to stop weren't there. The thinking was more along the lines of - I go by here almost every day so I can always get some photos, just not right now.

Well I made up my mind today that this was the day I really would stop here - carpe diem! The light was right, and as lots of traffic whizzed by, I finally got some shots. Hope you can see why I liked this place.

I'm glad you didn't pass it by Rick! So lovely...and I have said those very same words many a time too whilst passing certain places on my drive to work.
I loved that you seized the moment so that you could share this beautiful place with us! Cheers Rick ... Carp Diem!

These are really awesome Rick! I love the flower in the end shot!

I sure do know what you mean about "I'll shoot that location later." The entire Yukon is that way! ;o)

@Barefoot from Heaven - hi Dagmar! Thanks for stopping by and following. Yes - I'm an emigrant (when I was 6). Ik kan Nederlands lezen, spreken, en schrijven - als het maar niet te complex is.

I actually pulled over and got out of the car to take these shots, on both sides of the busy road which runs right through here!

@darlin - congrats gramma! Hope you're able to keep both feet on the ground :)

It is a beautiful place that I've simply whizzed by so often. Amazing where you can find beauty!

@Photog Ave - thanks Avery. The sun always filters through the trees so nicely late in the afternoon - I finally had to take some shots. #1,4 were on the west side, #2,3 on the east side of the road.

@Katherine - sometimes you have to implement the Nike slogan and "Just Do It"! :)

@Kerri - thanks Kerri; it was difficult choosing from among the shots so I had to post more than the usual 1.

@bonifer - that last one was 'just' a dandelion but it was sheltered from the wind by the trees and was perfect. I love the photos I can get with my 70-200mm lens.

@Krista - judging from your blog Krista I can see what you mean by the entire Yukon is that way! Sometimes it's just tough to put the camera down and get home :)

@Julia - glad you enjoyed them Julia. Next time you're down I'll show you where I made the photos (unless you can guess) - you'd be amazed!

What took you so long? That is beautiful. Of course much of it's beauty is related to the spring green and reflections you probably would not have got with ice or snow, so it looks like the timing was perfect. Really great.

Love all of these. Last one is my fave.

@Scott - there was always a 'reason' for not stopping - none any good. And it was always 'there'. Yep - no reflections in winter but I'll try to get a shot there next winter - might look nice with the shadows of the bare trees on the snow.

@POD - one of my faves too; thanks.

I've had fewer of those days, the days I have are well, now I'm doing this with a P&S but I got to note this area down so I'll retake the shot when I get a DSLR and guess what? I frequently forget to write it down :(.

I'm happy you stopped, because that place is worth the photos..

@M. Hassan - thank you M. I think that besides ABC I also need to add ABN (Always Bring Notebook!). I too have seen places that I mean to revisit but there's already too much 'stuff' in my brain and so I forget.
