(Day 134) Lowly, but not forgotten

I recall that as a youngster I had an early fascination with flowers - perhaps it was the colours; I'm not really sure. And while I don't remember specific instances, I do remember picking 2 varieties to bring home and put in an old peanut butter or other empty jar - dandelions and forget-me-nots.

I used to have a few forget-me-nots growing around the pond but they disappeared a few years ago. They grow rampant at one of my daughters' homes and I took some home with me last weekend. I promise I won't forget them this time.

Keep them coming. I love flowers because they bring peace and joy into my heart.

I remember my mom having a lot of those when I was a kid and I would pluck one to give to my childhood girlfriend. I think we were both 5 years of age back then. Funny, how things turn out. She is now married wit 5 kids and I have one.

I was taking some pictures of these today, too ... it's such an unusual color blue.

@M. Hassan - a girlfriend at 5 already M! :) And you already knew the way to her heart with flowers! Ha ha - they are pretty flowers though!

@Katherine - I think you'd have to ask my mother about the 'sweet' part - not sure she remembers it quite that way :) LOL! Thanks Katherine.

@S. Etole - I agree Susan; I think that's what attracted me to them - a very soft pastel blue, with that little yellow ring in the centre. And some - on the same plant even - are a soft pink. Hopefully you posted yours too - I'll come by to check it out.

Rick do you have a single brother? One that also likes forget-me-nots? lol

You have a very kind heart and a beautiful soul, I can tell from the way you share your words here and from the amazing photos you shoot. I see that your view of the world is astounding and that really shines through. I agree 100%, keep the flowers and nature photos coming... they are amazing! (I was kidding about the brother btw! hehe)

Have a wonderful weekend!

A girlfriend at 5 was easy, I got lots of attention back then, more than now. I think that's part of a kids life, innocent love ;)

@darlin - LOL ! thanks for your kind words *blush*. Hope you're enjoying your weekend too!

@M. Hassan - I agree; I'm sure most boys had a 'crush' until they reached the age when girls were considered 'yuckie', which lasted till about puberty. I had a crush on a girl in grade 8 while I was in grade 1! :)

@Barefoot from Heaven - aren't they lovely Dagmar! Enjoy them while they last.
