(Day 138) In the early morning fog ...

Well, sometimes things aren't really the way they appear, are they. Just like a story sometimes has another side to it. We're wise not to jump to conclusions too quickly, even when things seem pretty obvious to us.

Take this photo for example. I got outside fairly early this morning and made a few photos. Things certainly looked foggy, at least through the lens. Turns out that the warm humid air outside condensed on the lens as I brought the camera out of an air-conditioned room. In my hurry I didn't wait for it to get acclimatized. However, I thought the effect was neat so I decided to post this one.

Just to show you that it was a beautiful clear day, however, I'll post this shot which was made minutes later - after I'd cleared the lens by holding it up to the sunlight.

Both are really cool!

I do like the effect in 1 and the perspective and color in 2.

Great work!

What a way to take a beautiful shot, who would have thought that a bit of fog on a lens could make a photo look so beautiful! Tell ya what though, I won't try that one, my luck I'll find a way to ruin my lens!

It sure looks like you had a glorious day, so calm and warm, Wonderful photos as usual Rick.

@Photog Ave - thank you Avery. I'm usually not up early enough in the day to catch 'real' fog! :)

@Katherine - LOL; yes I noticed that too, later. The weather was great - 95F (35C) !!

@S. Etole - that it truly was Susan!

@darlin - that's what I thought at first too when I looked through the lens - thought it was inside the camera. Then I figured I may as well try some shots before 'fixing the problem' - glad I did.

You have put a new 'light' on fog, nicely done!! I love the tree branch too..

Both are magnificent! I like shooting with a foggy lens, actually! I shoot with a filter at all times - either a polarizer or just a UV Filter so sometimes I will fog it up on purpose just for fun!

I love going out early in the mornings too. It's my favourite time of day; and also there is more wildlife out and about I find!

@bonifer - nice pun :) Thanks for your comment!

@Krista - I'd never tried that before, nor was it 'on purpose' this time, but I'll keep it stored in the back of my mind (which is really cluttered, but that's another story). And my early mornings tend to also not be 'on purpose' :)
