(Day 141) Wild things

The difference between looking and seeing can be remarkable. While cutting the grass today on the riding lawnmower, I looked and saw a lot of 'weeds' amongst the grass, and at the sides of the 'domesticated' lawn area. However, here and there I could see bits of colour that weren't really evident with a sweeping glance across the same area.

After dinner I decided to go and see what I might find. Camera in hand, I truly saw what was there, and decided to share a selection of what I found, all of which was just growing wild. I'm sure you all have similar experiences, daily. Aren't some of the smallest things in creation really grand!

Rick I was worried for a second there, when I seen the title of your post I was scared to view your photo, I thought that you might have a picture of me from somewhere on my blog! lol Just kidding!

Your photos are beautiful, who would have thought that weeds and dandelions could look so wonderful? You're amazing, another awesome post.

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Love every single shot and but the first one is sublime and is amazingly composed. Now I'm starting to wonder if you used a macro/micro lens or just a normal lens.

By the way, which camera do you use or own?

@darlin - thank you Darlene. Yes, there's tremendous beauty out there, not obvious to those hurrying through life. I always enjoy going out to see it and never cease to be amazed by it. Hope your weekend is equally wonderful.

@M. Hassan - thank you M. My 60mm is a macro lens and I'm very fond of it. My DSLR is a Canon Rebel XS.

@S. Etole - thank you Susan. I too was surprised that a 'mere weed' could look so lovely.

@imac - thank you mac. I recall that song also being done by a group called The Troggs.

@Katherine - I'm always amazed by the beauty of the very small things out in creation - a macro lens can be used to bring this into real focus, which we might otherwise not see. Thanks for your kind words Katherine and I also hope you're enjoying a great weekend.

Once again Rick, I love the first shot.
It's so symmetrical and looks almost like a painting.
