(Day 149) At the waterfront

This early onslaught of summer has everyone excited about water sports. We're blessed to live near the St. Lawrence River and the 1000 Islands, a wonderful place to enjoy all sorts of water-based activities. We were there this afternoon to have our fish & chips dinner in the waterfront park and watch people and other creatures enjoying a fine late spring day. Here's a small view into what was going on.

Looks like a very nice day and fun times. Cann't have a better day than sailing or being on a watercraft. You need to breakout some sunset pictures and join in Scott's Sunday Sunsets.

@darlin - yes, it was a beauty of a day; not too hot (25C; 77F) and mostly sunny. The 1000 Islands area is gorgeous.

Hiya Rick ... you really do have the best surroundings to live in. Beautiful forests to explore and the waterfront. Just de-lovely! Oh how I would love to be lying in a banana lounge or hammock under a shady tree there right now...What a beautiful view that is! Soaking in some healing rays & fresh sea air!
It would have been a lovely day out!

@Katherine - I think it might have done you a world of good Katherine! Yes, there are lovely places here, and I think that's true almost anywhere - you've shown us some beautiful places; that's the wonder of the internet - we get to share the beauty that surrounds each of us! Healing rays coming your way.

I love how many colours you've captured here! What are those bright blue pillar thingies? I keep looking and trying to figure them out but haven't been able to yet... :o)

Rick said...

@Jeanne Klaver - people were really out enjoying themselves, yours truly included ;)

Rick said...

@Krista - thanks Krista - there's always lots of colours down near the water esp. all the boats and other watercraft. Those blue 'pillar thingies' (is that the technical term ?) are what the boats tie up to - it's in the marina. I liked the colours and thought it would make an interesting photo.

Yes... highly technical nautical term there. I'm surprised you didn't recognize it. LOL! Great colour though isn't it? Very interesting shots. :o)
