(Day 157) Game for a slow Sunday

Sometimes when you get what you wish for it turns out to be a bit of a mixed blessing. We've gone through a dry spell here over the last number of weeks so we've been hoping for rain. Well, we got some rain - not copious amounts, but enough to rejuvenate the ground and all things dependent on it. At the same time, however, the day turned out dreary and surprisingly cool (15C/60F). So it wasn't the kind of day to go traipsing around outdoors.

Instead I looked around for other opportunities, and decided to make a little game out of what I found. I've already given you some clues - now I'll open it up to guesses. Let's see what cybersleuth can come up with the right answer to what is on today's photo.

And since it's Sunday, I'm also posting a sunset in keeping with Scott's Sunset Sunday theme.

guess what ...

Very pretty sunset, you got some gteatt color. Was this taken near your home? As for your mystery photo I have no idea, but it must be the cutting of some plant.

I like games but you know what I have absolutely no idea what it is. I thought maybe bristles on a broom, could they be a heap of nails.. Oh I don't know Tricky Ricky!!! Is the game open to asking clue questions???
By the way I love your sunset shot .. very beautiful!

@Chad - thanks Chad; yes, I took it last summer in our backyard. Nice try on the guess, but ... no.

@CarreraCaballo - thank you Joseph. I always anticipate a nice sunset if there are some clouds gathering around sunset time; our dreary day seems to be disappearing so I might get lucky this evening.

@Katherine - you've been the 'warmest' so far Katherine. As for asking for clues, the short answer is ... no ;-) at least not till a few others have guessed.

Glad you enjoyed the sunset - I think lots of people have 'joined' Scott's Sunset Sunday.

Oh bugger Rick!! Party Pooper ( only kidding...just being cheeky) ... Ok I am going to just throw one out there and say it is a close up of a Wire Brush!!!

Katherine said...

No to be more precise with my guess..the bristles on a wire brush!! Waiting patiently!!

Rick said...

@Katherine - getting warmer ...

Rick said...

@Katherine - ahhh, that's almost an 'ouch'! ;o)

Pretty Please with sugar on top...if this next guess is not right... a wee little clue would be lovely!!
What about...here it goes... a thick bristled hot coal brush for fireplaces or pizza ovens!! Well??

Rick said...

@Katherine - let me answer this way:

on Sunday I posted a shot
so readers could guess what they thought
the post had some clues
and one person's views
were so close I considered them 'hot'

;-)

Katherine said...

Oh you're a cheeky bugger Rick
Look at you with your tricky tricks
Now you've turned into the Limerick King
It seems Rick your good at everything

Still not helpful though ... is 'hot' a clue???

Ok Rick...it is 11:30 Monday Morning here in Brisbane and you posted this on Sunday which (in my time) which means that I have been waiting a long time. You will be going to bed soon & you can't leave me waiting till tomorrow, which is Tuesday here for the answer to the puzzle!! So wadda ya say?

The only thing I can think of is a tooth brush. I noticed the there were fewer rows of bristles to the right so I'm thinking that's the top.

Anyway, beautiful sunset there for Sunset Sunday.

Thank you kind sir for the game
I am sorry my behavior was lame
I am sorry to rush
To find out it was a brush
Next time I will play the game tame!

I knew it was a brush!!!

I got it! I got it! Hee..hee..hee~~

Oh and I thought you might have been just trying to keep up with all my responses to your post...no seriously, maybe it's that little gremlin that been interfering with your uploading..
You enjoy your monday tomorrow! Have you seen Scotts blog...go check it out!

I get computer gremlins too! With any luck they'll meet through the interwebs, fall in love and run away together. many blessings and best wishes to them, and NEVER return! LOL

Great shots, as always! I see I'm too late to guess but I was going to guess hot glue sticks! I would have had the wrong scale though.

great shots and fun reading all the comments - my guess was going to be a hairbrush

Ha Ha Ha...laughing very hard right now!! That naughty little gremlin!

I'm not sure what the first is, looks like straws but I'm sure its not, but I love the amazing lighting on both images.

You're becoming better and better by the day. Well done!

Lovely sunset, Rick. I've no idea what game you're playing there with straws but I hope you knock yourself out! :-)

Rick said...

@M. Hassan - thank you M. I posted the solution, with photo, today.

@J.J.S. - thanks Joel; I think blogger knocked me out yesterday ;-)

@darlin - yep - that Katherine can sure confuse people, right ? ;-)
