(Day 192) Lazy days of summer

Sun. July 11, 2010

Vacations can be wonderful times of rest and relaxation. And we were blessed to have some great weather to make our days near the water even more relaxing. This is typical of the view we had daily from the beach near our cottages.

And although we were on vacation and I had no internet access, I didn’t forget about Sunset Sunday. We witnessed a glorious sunset today on a walk together, and this is one of a number of photos I was fortunate to make.

I love the orange/red color of those boats...they look so bright and beautiful on the water. And...what a glorious golden sunset!

So what if the boat that's in front of the others wants to get out first? Too bad for them? lol

I love the sunset photo! Water and sunsets work amazingly well for photos I'm learning.

Love the angle and the lighting on that boat shot. I don't know if you've read Karen's Tech Talk Tuesday for this past week but this is an excellent example of doing it right.

Of course I love the sunset with the turn bridge also. Thanks for remembering.

@Carolyn Ford - thanks Carolyn - they were so colourful I had to make a few photos of them. And the sunsets we had for several evenings were just awesome - this is one example.

@darlin - good question; since they were all rentals and were pretty much alike, it probably didn't matter which got out first :)

It was a real pretty place to watch sunsets - couldn't help but make a few nice photos.

@imac - thanks mac - they were like that most evenings, although never the same formations or colours.

@Scott - thank you Scott. I didn't have network access at all so hadn't read Karen's post (I just did now thanks to your link) - great post by the way and good advice for us to keep in mind. It's amazing how the mind does do a lot of those things almost automatically, but it's good to also keep it at a conscious level.

And you know I couldn't forget Sunset Sunday! ;-)

I hope all is well!
