(Day 271) Fall on fire

Spring and summer certainly bring out spectacular colours, especially evident in the abundance and variety of flowers. And the winter season can regularly cover over the remains of the previous seasons' growth with a soft, virginal blanket of white. But I think it's fall that produces a lot of the dramatic kodachrome scenes (think Simon and Garfunkel) that so many of us covet.

On my way home this afternoon I drove along a dirt country road where I hadn't been for a while, pulled over, and stepped into another world. Even though everything was wet, plants seemed to be on fire. I think I'm going to follow a fall theme for a little while - hope you come along for the ride.

@S. Etole - I think so too Susan. Thanks for dropping by.

@Lisa - yes, I agree - the leaves take on a colour they don't have in spring or summer, almost like they're going out in a blaze of glory ! Only the Master Painter could create these scenes purely for us to enjoy. Can we imagine what heaven and the new earth might look like ?

@Ruth's Photo Blog - we can only look on in awe when we see Him in creation. Thanks for taking time to stop by Ruth - you and Jake are in our prayers.

Don't you just love the fall? Can't say I'm quite ready for winter yet, though. I love both photos, though am partial to the one on the bottom.
I love simon & garfunkel... I don't know why, but I had "Diamonds in the Soles of Her shoes" stuck in my head when I was out hiking the other day. I think they quit making kodachrome :(.

@Barefoot from Heaven - lol, don't follow me too closely though - I don't know where I'm going ;-)

Thanks Dag ! Hope your week is going very well.

@jasmin - thank you; I have to act quickly these days because autumn is advancing rapidly and leaves continue to fall. We will enjoy while we can !

@CarreraCaballo - thank you Joseph. The temperatures are getting cooler with each day here, and we're getting lots of autumn rain - we might be lucky with an Indian summer, we might be unlucky with some early white stuff !

@teca - thank you teca; the vine reached higher in the tree than I could see and bright red all the way up !

Beijos !!

@becky - I think I'm partial to each season as it rolls in, and I enjoy what each brings. I think we were created for change - things would get boring if they always stayed the same, and so with the change of seasons. Fall is beautiful right now, then everything will fade and get ugly so we move to winter where it all gets covered up.

Sad about kodachrome isn't it - remember those days ? Seems so long ago now.

Thanks Becky.

Oh, I'm so in for this ride! I love your photos and the colors in the fall are so spectacular. You're keen eye and attention to detail... I would miss this ride for anything, I might be delayed a bit every now and again but I'll be back. How about that, I'm even warning you now... what's wrong with me? :-) Happy fall shooting!

@darlin - thank you; things are looking pretty out there (except for today !). Glad to have you along ... I'll try to keep it interesting.

Now, how's that candle coming along ? Looks like you really were burning it at both ends !
