(Day 348) Ebb and flow

I've never lived by the sea, but whenever we visit there the idea seems appealing. There's something about the rhythm of life that is reassuring, like the ebb and flow of the tides. I hadn't really thought much about tides whenever we went for a walk near the water here. By coincidence we must have always been out for a walk when the tide was in.

Today, however, the difference in the view at one of our favourite places was immediately apparent.

Wonderful marks in the sand from the water. Love your view of this. We have snow moving in and will be snowing for a few days. No problem here about a white christmas.

Love the texture in the sand. Glad you caught it before it had been walked on. Great shot, and it's amazing what a low tide will uncover and make available to your lens.

I always love to walk barefooted on the beach. And when the tide is out....the sand like this feels funny at the feet...do give it a go (even when it's kind of cold).
Love the pier.
Hugs D.

The textures that the tide leaves behind are always beautiful and I like the perspective you took the picture from . . . What a great area you are accommodating in right now :-)

I love the sea, it's very relaxing.

Nice capture! The bridge leading the eyes to something mysterious and the pattern on the sand make this photo pop.

Thank you Lisa ! Good luck with the snow - we're on our way back to 'snow country' this weekend, for a white Christmas.

Soraia - thanks; I like your sense of humour too ;-) btw - it's tough to erase pen marks.

That's what caught my eye as I was walking on the pier. Thanks Susan.

Hi Avery - thank you !

Thanks Scott - it was fairly cool out and not too many people around. But there were footprints further over to my right - glad I got a shot of 'virgin ripples'.

Thanks for coming by Ruth and leaving your nice comment. Blessings to you too.

Thank you Dawn. I plan on ordering some more large prints, so I might consider this one.

The ridges were cool - and so was the weather ;-) Thanks Chas !

Hi Julia - I'd never seen low tide there so this was something new for me. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Thanks Leovi - whenever I had walked on this pier before there was always water - I didn't know it was this shallow nor that these cool patterns would be found there.

I think I'll wait for warmer weather before I try barefoot here Dag. You go ahead - you have a name to live up to ;-)

Hi Joseph - yes, lots of places with photo ops. Thank you !

Merci Marty - but the sand was very cold that day. We're hoping for a return to 30C but it could be a while. In the meantime, plein de bisous chaud pour toi !

Mac - thank you; keep the dream alive ! ;-)

Thank you M! I think all the practice with doing this 365 has helped me compose shots a little better.

The sand lines give the beach scene that little bit something extra! We frequent the shore as often as is possible and when I walk along the beach and see these line patterns in the sand, it reminds me of the passing of time. It is time & the steady rhythmic ebb & flow of the water that writes these time lines in the sand! Beautiful!
