Caught in the morning sun

"There is no hope for a civilization which starts each day to the sound of an alarm clock." (Author Unknown)

You might have guessed that I'm not a morning person. It's not that I don't like mornings - I do, very much - since I'm still up early most mornings and then go to bed. And this week I've even been getting up early to do some photo shoots. So this morning I found myself driving through the countryside looking sideways more than straight ahead. And since I had my camera with me anyway I could just stop in the middle of the road and capture a scene that I wouldn't normally be up to see.

Even though I have some (relatively) early morning work this week, I still subscribe to the wisdom in the quote above - my wife (definitely the early bird) wakes me up !

Firstly, great photo Rick! I love the shadows that early morning & late afternoon make. Secondly, I hate the alarm clock... particularly on workdays. Don't mind it as much when I have to get up early to do something fun. Looks like you're starting another 365?

Too bad you have to get up so early to get morning shots. That's why I seldom get them. I like this one though. Almost makes it worth getting up before the crack of noon.

Rick, the song "You've got to kiss an angel good morning" just popped into my head, I hope that you kiss your angel good morning when she wakes you. :-)

I love the photo, fantastic shot of the sun peering through the trees.

I hope you're having a blast with the photo shoot and that it's all coming together nicely for you, without a doubt in my mind you're doing some fantastic work!

Lovely morning shot.

Myself, I don't get up unless it is light out ... so my get up time, now that I'm retired, follows the seasons.

The idea of morning is nice the night before, I just can't seem to get excited about it when it arrives! You seem to be getting the hang of that lens...your shots are very nice. Also, love the new name!

Thank you Lisa. I'm usually more productive later in the day, but I understand on the farm ...

Thanks Becky - I agree with you on alarm clocks - sometimes a necessary evil ! No - not another 'formal' 365 but I hope to post every day.

Ha ha Scott - I like your thinking - 'the crack of noon' ! I had to get up for my assignments this week - catching a shot like this is also a rare event for me, but I should try it more often.

Thank you Darlene ! (nope - don't kiss the angel that early - morning breath, you know ;-) Photo shoots are going well - hopefully the client will be happy too when I'd done

Hi Dag - slaapkop ? Ik ben meestal nog wakker als jij al weer je bed uit kruipt ;-) Zo lang als ik nog maar 6 uur slapen kan, gaat alles goed. Thanks for your kind words, and 'k zal mijn vrouw ook bedanken. Fijne vrijdag. Groetjes

Thank you for visiting Gabriela, and your kind comment.

My favourite time too - if I HAVE to be up ;-) Thanks Dawn.

Lisa - thank you, and it was my pleasure !

Thanks Cat - I'm trying to give it lots of practice - and it's really coming in handy for my assignments this week ! I agree with you re: morning - I think it's entirely overrated ! (although there are awesome shots to be had ;-)
