"It was an early morning yesterday ...

... and I was up before the dawn ..." Some of you might recognize those opening lines and those fit our situation as we all were up just past 03:30 a.m. to bring our daughters to the airport. We had a wonderful week with them and they made it back home safely. We returned home just after 05:00 a.m. and it was still pitch dark. We decided not to go back to bed and I found myself in uncharted territory at that time of day - up BEFORE the dawn !

Well, dawn did arrive and I decided to take advantage of a rare (for me) opportunity to capture a sunrise on a bit of a foggy morning.

Wow Rick, that's quite the sky. The color is almost surreal. I hope that you managed to get in a bit of a cat nap somewhere in your day, that would make for one heck of a long day!

Glad to hear that your daughters made it home safely and all is well. So how long until your next company arrives? :-)

Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday!

I'm with you there. One really appreciates sunrises, when you don't see them often. Beautiful shot.

Gorgeous sky,but up at 3:30,that's too early for even an early riser like me. :)

YOU were up before dawn?! :)
Glad you had a nice visit w/ your daughters! Great shot, BTW. Now that you see what you're missing, wondering if you'll turn into an early bird, haha.

This is stunning! Maybe it's worth it to wake up early every so often! I'm more of a sunset person myself but this makes me think I should get myself out of bed a bit earlier at least once in a while.

Thanks, Darlene - I did succumb to (more than one) catnap during the day ;-) I don't think this will become a habit ! We're done with company - we'll be heading back in 2 weeks !

Ha ha - sleep in ? I just stay up a little later and make sure I get my 6 hours of beauty sleep ;-) Why would you want to come down here now, Dawn - hasn't spring arrived there ?

Thank you, Julia !

Thanks, Magda - I don't often see them and it certainly was beautiful. Have a great week !

Ha ha - thanks, Stewart - some poor soul on his/her way to work already !

Good description, Tammy !

Thanks for visiting, Muffy, and your nice comment; I dropped by to see your blog - very interesting !

Thanks, Ruth. I don't plan on duplicating the experience any time soon ;-)

Thank you, Soraia !

LOL Farmchick - my once-in-a-lifetime experience (I hope ;-)

Unbelievable isn't it Becky ! We had a great week together, but there's no danger of me becoming an early bird ! ;-)

Thanks, Michelle - on both counts !

Ha ha Joseph - the price we pay ... ;-)

Thank you, Elizabeth - the pleasure was all mine !

It sure did Susan, even through my somewhat weary eyes !

Thanks Cat - I have a small confession: I used to see these regularly during my brief (3 year) stint as a school bus driver; now only unusual circumstances get me out that early, but I'll admit that it was worth it !
