Struck by the light

I was reviewing some of my photo folders tonight and I was struck by what the camera captured in one particular photo that I likely hadn't seen with the naked eye. Our pond yielded many photo opportunities while I was doing a 365 project last year, and there were days when I had more than enough raw material to satisfy the project requirements of posting one photo.

I thought I was capturing bubbles as they sailed across the surface of the pond, however, I was surprised by what I hadn't seen.

Rick this is fascinating, what are the bubbles created by?

Hi Darlene - I'm just catching up on comments and was starting to do the blog rounds when I saw your comment. We have 2 ponds at home with a little series of waterfalls between them which creates the bubbles in the bottom pond.

Looks like gold in that water!
Funny what we miss when we have our mind in a certain frame.
Thinking outside of it always seems to reveal new treasures!
Lovely Bubbles-and-More capture:)

I have seen bubbles like this in still and stagnet ponds too, i think probably produced by the gasses released by the plants/algae. I too have taken shots of these bubbles. There is just something facinating about them.

A little hidden photographic gift - I too love it when it happens. Thanks Ruth.

A stroke of luck (?) Karin - thank you.

Thanks Elizabeth - sometimes little gems like that appear.

Thank you Soraia !

You're right Dawn - we often miss something right before us because we look past it (although I'm not sure I would have seen these sparkles ;-)

These were created by a series of little waterfalls where one pond falls into another, but you're right that gases can also cause this where there's decaying vegetation in the water. Thanks Tammy.

Thank you Scott - I usually resort to a tripod when I'm focusing on a particular object (the sprkles of light were just a bonus).

Glad to delight, Stewart ;-)

Thanks Farmchick - I certainly never expected this outcome !

Thank you Leovi (btw - this shot was SOOC).

Note to anyone reading this - I'm leaving shortly for the airport to pick up my daughter, her husband and our 2 granddaughters, who will be with us for 10 glorious days. I expect that my time to post, respond to your comments, and visit your blogs will be significantly curtailed.

If I don't happen by for a while, I haven't forgotten. I will of course sneak over to my computer when I can to read your comments, for which I am always very appreciative.
