Most photographed hotel in the world

Well, that's what Guinness says, and I further cemented that record during our recent trip to Quebec City. If you didn't already know, this is the Château Frontenac, which opened in 1893 as one of the luxury hotels built for Canadian Pacific Railways. (No, we didn't stay here - we were in the Château Laurier). It dominates the skyline of Quebec City viewed from the St. Lawrence River, perched high on a cliff overlooking it. Another reason to add Quebec City to your bucket list.

(all shots made with a 10-22mm lens at f8.0 - night shot at f5.6, with shutter speeds ranging from 1/640 sec to 2.5 sec, ISO200)

Always my mother's favorite! I have an old menu from days long gone... the prices ridiculous!

My sister says, if she ever wins the lottery she is going to stay at the Frontenac!

I have never gotten to Quebec City - almost on our train trip across Canada on our honeymoon but time did not allow.

Now, that is some hotel. Most photographed I believe you, I only hope for them it is also the most visited hotel because it will cost a dime to maintain its standards.
GReat Zaanse Schans photo Al. We were there last year and planning to go again maybe this summer because we didn't see all of it by far.Have a good Sunday.

I did not know about the existence of this Hotel *Shame* :-D

I thought that Burj El-Arab in Dubai was the most photographed hotel in the word!

The 3rd, 4th and 5th pics are great, especially the 5th, makes it look like Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria/Germany :-)

Greetz,

Joseph

Truly worth a visit, Elizabeth !

Absolutely Ruth - if you get the chance, go for a visit.

That menu is likely worth more than the cost of a stay; your mother had excellent taste, joey !

LOL Eileen - I didn't check out the cost but a lottery win should cover it ;-) Maybe you should take a trip out there - I've read it's also very beautiful in winter.

Yes, it sure has a European flavor to it, Cloudia. Aloha !

Ha ha Riet - ja, het zal wel een paar cent kosten, dacht ik. Vook niks gaat de zon op ;-)

Thank you Darlene - I just had to get a night shot (even with very little time). Put this on your bucket list.

Merci Marty - they don't build them like that any more, do they ! Merci pour les bisous - and I send many your way with a wish for a great week !

Thank you Saz - it was like a magical place, both during the daytime and evening.

Obrigado Fábio - I appreciate your kind words.

Thank you Magda; yes, to see the world and its many wonders opens one's eyes and mind. We see that all people have much more in common than differences.

Thank you so much teca ! I send you some enchanted beijos for an enchanted week !

Follow blogs and you're bound to learn something Joseph ;-) I don't think Burj El-Arab has been around long enough to surpass the Frontenac as most photographed. btw - Castle Neuschwanstein is on my bucket list - it was #2 to Rhodes last year or we would have been there.

An American architect designed it - not sure what his inspiration was. Thank you Susan.

Thank you Lisa; well worth a visit should you get the chance !
