Never enough ?

I won't talk your ear off with the story behind this photo. Suffice to say that when I look at it, some of the frustration of dealing with my ISP melts into the background and becomes insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I hope you're not tired of sunsets.

A new week is starting and I'm girding myself to resume battle with my ISP. I have been misled, given empty promises, waylaid with weasel words, and treated like a bad fungal outbreak. Till now, I haven't identified the ISP but now I will - Xplornet.com. Perhaps they're your ISP and you've received good service from them. You are fortunate. If you are contemplating using them as your ISP, I strongly suggest you look at other alternatives - I am. I will attempt to visit you again, although it may take most of the week.

Thank you for continuing to visit here, and leaving your comments.

Rick I'm glad to hear that you're searching for a new provider, I hope you get one soon. I was about to email you to check on you, it's not the same in blogland without your photos or your charming disposition. Welcome back and don't worry about visiting until you get your net up and running. You're only missing Colorado Springs! lol

Your photo is stunning! The song "How Great Thou Art" comes to mind looking at God's handiwork and your skill of capturing it. love the colors, the depth and the way the sunset reflects off the water. I personally will NEVER tire of sunsets, keep them coming when you can. I look forward to your sunset photos every Sunday night especially when I haven't captured one myself.

Take care, all the best with getting your internet problems resolved.

that is a PHENOMENAL photo of a phenomenal sunset. but i'm so sorry you've had so many problems with your isp. hope you can get set up with someone else who can give you good service instead of the obviously terrible service you've been receiving until now.

I love the composition of this shot. The tree leaning out over the water and the limb almost pointing to the beautiful sunset make for a real easy feast for the eyes and soul! This shot just begs me to ponder just how many of these great sunsets has this gentle giant of a tree witnessed through the years? Great job! Hope you get some relief with your ISP issue.

Amazing photo! :D

Just beautiful and really nice job on the HDR. Best of luck with your ISP. I'm assuming you don't have another viable choice???

Thank you Hillary !

Thanks Susan !

Ha ha - thanks, Darlene - you always help me keep things in perspective. I got an apologetic call from the ISP today along with (another) promise to send a technical crew with a spectrum analyzer to check our wireless link to the tower. It's really frustrating to watch a blog load for 10-15 mins (or more !) - kinda takes the fun out of it. I'd like to look at Colorado Springs through your lens. Thanks for your uplifting words.

Van harte dank voor je mooie woorden Riet. 'k wil graag op bezoek komen ...

Thank you very much Lisa - it was a thrill to witness this one in such a gorgeous setting.

You likely won't see many sunrises, Dag, but I'll keep working on the sunsets. Thank you for visiting and your kind words - I will try to visit soon. I hope your bedrijfje is going well ;-) Groetjes.

Very true Marty - I never tire of sunsets or sunrises either (although I rarely experience sunrises ;-) Thank you, and I send you summer's first bisous ! ;-)

Thank you very much, Karin - the light was magical and became more so with every passing moment.

Thank you Ruth - I find that HDR adds depth to the colours (although I did make a number of non-HDR shots which I also liked).

Thanks so much, Elizabeth - most of the work on this was done by Someone else !

Since your Internet Connection is slow, so I won't comment with a long piece of literature :-D

Thank you, Chas ! ('master' might be a bit strong ;-)

Thanks Leslie - I was awestruck as this one unfolded. As for the ISP, they gave me a glimmer of hope today, so ... last chance (unfortunately we have very little choice out here :(

Thanks very much Randy - I found that the tree had so much character that I wanted to work it in to the shot - I was happy with how it worked out. This was taken in a spot just 1/4 mile off a major expressway - I'm not sure how many people would take the time out of their haste to get somewhere.

Obrigado Soraia !

Thanks very much Scott - I've been missing seeing your always wonderful work. You're right about lack of choice here - it's between the devil you know and the one you don't.

Thank you Eileen - the light just kept changing by the minute and it reflected beautifully off the water and the tree.

Thanks for keeping it 'subdued', Joseph ;-) [as long as it's text only, it loads ok - any graphics, photos, etc and 'slow' doesn't begin to describe it]. Nice to hear from you - will attempt a visit across the big pond (swimming might be quicker ;-)

Not sure what kind of problems you're having w/ them & I've never even heard of them, but if it's taking this long to get it straightened out... I'll never use them!

We'll be here when it DOES get lined out, especially w/ images as BEAUTIFUL as this! WoW!

Mutton busters, huh?! Now that would be fun to watch & I bet the kids have tons of fun, too!!! =)

I never tire of sunsets. This particular photo strikes me because of the reflected color on the tree trunk.

My God! What a wonderful image! I took the liberty to copy it to my PC. Is that a problem?

And have good luck to solve your problem with the internet.

Hi Rick just catching up on some of your wonderful past blogs and saw this one. This photo is just stunning as so many of yours are. Well what jumped out here was xplornet. They are my provider for satillite internet. I have no other choice where I live. I haven't been around for awhile as my speeds had gotten so slow it was far worse than dial-up. Mind you even before my blogs could easily take sometime a half hour to load. It has often been very slow process when visiting photo blogs which is what I mostly do. Anyway had my dish readjusted and and after almost of 6 hours of messing around go things working again. But my LAN is going in my modem. I hope it holds out till this winter. xplornet is rolling out 4G for satillite internet. It is suppose to already be available in some areas back east with the use of towers. Those are blazing speeds for less then what I pay now for only 512kbps. Anyway I am just so glad to even be able to load a website again after almost of 2 weeks of only eacking my mail to my desktop and somehow could always still get facebook most the time. Always enjoy coming here when I get a chance. Been so busy doing other things as well. Wishing you a wonderful coming weekend. Hugs Carrie

Rick what goes around comes around. You always have such positive encouraging words to share with me and I love your sense of humor. I think it's about time to go visit Joseph and see what kind of a conversation I can get stirred up over there! lol Maybe tomorrow I'll do just that. I always get some fantastic laughs at the conversations which take place over there, Joseph shares the same type of humor and it's priceless.

Have a wonderful week Rick!

Hi Carrie - I'm just going back to pick up on comments I hadn't responded to yet. First of all - thank you for your kind words ! As for Xplornet - I too have very little choice out here in the boonies (and I think Xplornet knows it). I've been with them for 3+ years and have had problems (slow or down) constantly during that time. Bell offers a stick (uses the cell towers) but is prohibitively expensive - and of course no speed guarantee either. I'm trying to find out when Xplornet is rolling out 4G wireless here - that is 'supposed' to be better - but in the meantime I'll keep breathing ;-) I know what you mean about busy with other stuff - so much to do, so little time.

LOL - thanks Darlene; I agree we should 'gang up' on Joseph a bit and see what he's got up his sleeve. My internet is behaving tonight so I'm making my rounds as quick as I can. Have a great week !

LOL best hurry Rick... as I sit here laughing out loud! I'll head over and see what our friend is up to. ;-)
