Sailor's Delight

This age-old saying proved true again recently as storm clouds were swept away to the east, illuminated by the setting sun. But you don't have to be a sailor to enjoy and appreciate a sunset.

This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

Rick these are stunning photos, yes I enlarged them. Actually I take the time to enlarge almost all of your shots, they're that beautiful!

The second photo reminds me of "How Great Thou Art", the first one is perfect for the scripture you chose. I also like your choice of the postage stamp framing in the first one, it could be a postage stamp easily it's that beautiful!

Thanks for stopping off at my blog (I'll head over and read your comment). That's awesome you're getting good connection for a change... quick make your rounds! lol

Have a fantastic week!

I'm glad you mention that I don't have to be a sailor to enjoy such a delight to the eyes and the soul.

I live close to the ocean, and I've the venture of seing loads of them.
Each and eveyone are different, and this one is simply magnificent.

Thanks for paying me a visist.
Hopefully, next time, I'll show one sunset of my own.

Nice sunset. My son did a science fair project once upon a time, charting the colors of the sun rises and sunsets and the weather that followed. The old saying held true most of the time.

Thank you, Darlene. The sky that evening was awesome - a big storm had passed just to the north of us and missed us. I've been playing around a little with some photos - experimenting with frames, collages, etc - something a little different. I think my letter to my ISP sr. mgmt. is finally bearing some fruit - I'm in regular contact with a sr. specialist and they've made a number of repairs on the their tower; since Sunday the connection has been running about 6x faster (which is still only 40% of what I'm supposed to get, but some progress at least makes me hopeful; oh, I'm also working with them on a credit !). Enjoy your week - and the anticipation of Australia !! (and thanks for noticing the header ... ;-)

Van harte dank, Riet. We genieten hier vaak van een prachtige zonsondergang.

Thank you, Cloudia. To which I can only say "Aloha !"

Merci beaucoup, Marty ! You are right - the light changes very quickly as the sun works its magic at the fin du jour; I always have my camera with me - not a moment to lose ! Sunny bisous sent your way - in the middle du jour ;-)

Hello Ná - nice to have you back. You are lucky to live close to the water - I have seen spectacular sunsets there as it sinks into the sea. I look forward to seeing some of yours. soon.

Thank you very much, Betty ! I managed to get to your site last night since my internet seems to be improving - gorgeous shots of Devon. I appreciate your visits and comments !

Ah Su, I just visited you to see what spring is bringing to Brazil - very beautiful. Thank you amigo for your visits and kind words. Enjoy spring !

Thank you kindly, Scott - and thanks for initiating Sunset Sundays. It looks like progress is being made on the internet front although I'm not declaring victory quite yet.

Obrigado, Fábio !

Thank you, Ruth ! How can we not praise Him when the evidence is all around us.

Thanks, Saz - you'll have to do a sunset series when your new camera arrives !

Thank you, Tammy. I've never tracked it but from what I've read there appears to be some science behind it.

Thanks, Lisa - reminds me of that Ansel Adam quote about God putting me in the right place at the right time to get the shot.

Obrigado, BlueShell !

Very deserved. And thank you too, Soraia !

Thank you very much, Mariiana !

Thank you, Lisa - I was awed by the cloud formations, and the sun about to duck below the horizon.
