Welcome Home (?)

I believe it's not only the fog that comes on little cat feet.

After a long but safe and uneventful journey back to the north country, during which we watched the season roll back from summer to early spring, we were surprised this morning to find ourselves back in the middle of winter. Perhaps it was karma at work, since we thought we had escaped that season. We were somewhat unprepared - mentally - to move back that far on the calendar. The rain that started last night quietly turned into the proverbial white stuff as the overnight temperature approached the freezing point.

The only member of the household who could truly appreciate the vagaries of nature was Sasha - she was back in her element.

(all shots made with a 10-22mm lens at f7.1, ISO200, and shutter speeds from 1/250 to 1/100 sec)

Well what a surprise, quite different what you expected. We don't have snow but the rest is the same, rain and cold.

Wow, even your tulips are confused! Welcome home Rick, you know you're home when you have to dress in layers and be ready for anything and it's that time of year where it's literally any type of weather.

I'm happy to hear Sasha is enjoying the white stuff, I can just see her running and playing... home at last.

Enjoy the rest of your week and have fun getting settled back in to your beautiful home.

The one good thing about snow at this time of year,it won't last long.

When I first saw the photos I thought they were from your archives...

Well, I wouldn't mind if summer had decided to stay a little longer around here. ;-)

Snow seems to be the norm this week across the country. We woke to snow here in northern Alberta too. It has melted now but it's not very warm out there! I enjoyed several nice warm and sunny days since I arrived Thursday. Oh well. This is Canada! Pamela

Isn't it nice to come home from a warm clime at this time of year? I feel your pain, have been there so many times. Now I just don't go away in spring, its less disturbing to my sense of home.

I hope the snow is shortlived for you this week. It looks beautiful in your photos though and yes your dog looks very comfortable in the snow. Glad you made it home safely.

It does seem to be making the rounds! We just had a small amount of the heavy wet stuff, but it is really so cold here. For the first time in 22 years, my wonderful lilac tree has absolutely no blooms. Not sure if it's the price we are paying for such a mild winter, or if it's the constant frosts we keep having.

Glad you arrived safely!

Sometimes Winter also has a hard time saying farewell.

Sorry I haven't been by much lately. I've been away and had some computer issues, but I'm back and will try to visit much more often again.

Ha cought you off garde didn't. Well as long as Sascha is happy you all can be happy too.

Spring will be back asap.
Great to see your home. It's beautiful. Ik zie dat je maar liefst twee garage's hebt, dus een plekje voor mij om te komen logeren ;-).
Hugs and give Sascha a big cuddle from me.
