Somewhere ......

[some of you may be familiar with Eva Cassidy - if so, you undoubtedly are very familiar with the song below; if you aren't, you owe it to yourself to have a listen - I promise you won't regret it - click the link below the photos]

Today started off well enough, crisp but with sunshine. By early afternoon the weather had degenerated into a wind-whipped rainstorm. It had stopped by dinner time so we could take Sasha out for a walk (or maybe she takes us ?), although the sky still looked threatening. We made it back just before the low grey masses of clouds opened up again. But we could see some clearing on the western horizon.

Sure enough, as the clouds were being swept to the east, the sun peeked below the western edge of the clouds and shone through the rain, capping the day off with a magnificent rainbow. I wouldn't have traded this moment for a pot of gold.

That is one awesome rainbow! Maybe the whole "pot of gold" story is just to entice us to get outside :) Beautiful capture in your last photo.

Rick, these photographs are simply magnificent.

The other day when I visited you here, I mentioned that I'd not heard of Eva Cassidy, and I haven't, but I have heard this song, and it is truly so beautiful. Now I DO know who she is!!

Oh my, your photos of "the promise" are spectacular. I haven't seen a rainbow in quite some time. We live in the woods, and would be difficult to see through the trees. Again thank you for sharing your wonderful gift of photography.

Wow, great shots of the rainbow. I am always too late in capturing a shot of it. It can disappear so quickly.

That is spectacular. I think moments like this are God's gift to us. You sure received a special gift that day.

That last picture is amazing. I gave your Eva another listen to, just not my style I guess, just a little to slow.

Dag Rick,

Lieve groetjes, Joke
