Serendipity

Nothing much happens around our little village, but this week we were surprised to find that the main paved road to the nearest town was suddenly blocked off. We were directed to a detour that took us along gravel roads through the countryside. On my way back along this route I noticed a sea of blue that I had missed on my way out.

So today, on my way home from doing another kitchen shoot, I had to stop, thrash my way through the vines bordering the field, and make a few shots (the mosquitoes I disturbed made sure I only stayed for a few shots !).

Sit back for a few minutes, turn on the music (link below), and drift off into the wild blue yonder ...

[oh, my curiosity about the detour was piqued so I drove past the 'road closed' sign for about a mile and came upon the reason for the closure - a bridge over this creek is being replaced - the construction crew said it would take 2 months]

by the way, this flower is known as Viper's Bugloss

There was definitely a reason for this detour.
My goodness, these are gorgeous, Rick, and it really does look like a sea of blue.

Wishing you a happy day.

What a stunning sight! The blue is so intense with the green. I've never heard of this flower before so I guess it doesn't grow here in NB. Beautiful photos Rick!

So many songs, so many singers all around the world and we choose the same and blue flowers ! étonnant !
often we follow the same routes and you see, closed roads, donnent l'opportunité de passer ailleurs et de découvrir things we never saw !
beautiful blue and beautiful blues, love this song !
wish you a blue sunday

Wonderful captures Rick! I often travel a different path to and fro when I have the time and option. It's amazing what new things we see. Your headed of the moon is awesome! Would love to know what lens and exposure you used to capture that shot.!!!
Wonderful work on the kitchens also. Both design and photo work! I'd say you are both pretty talented.
Have a blessed week!

Hoi Rick,

Hele fijne week.
Groet, Helma

It's the road less traveled that can lead to the most amazing places. This wonderful photo is proof of that Rick. This is just beautiful!
