It's a beautiful morning ...

... or I should have said it was a beautiful morning a few days ago even though my wife interrupted my (much-needed) beauty sleep to tell me of a sunrise that I should see. Knowing that the lifespan of a sunrise is usually measured in minutes, I was outside in a flash, camera and tripod in one hand while trying to remove cobwebs from my eyes with the other.

You might recall the song (click link below the photos) which came to my mind - and stuck around - while I basked in the early morning sun (and those of you who've been around my blog for awhile know that that's a rarity).

I hope your new week is off to a similar auspicious start !

Beautiful early morning shots, Rick. We woke to clouds today for the first time in 10 days and it's drizzling and quite chilly out. It's all going to turn around to sunshine later tomorrow though. I love watching the sunrise when I'm awake for it. :)

Wonderful that your wife has woken you, Rick. Otherwise you would have missed this beautiful sunrise. Fantastic pictures. I love sunrises. Greetings, Joke

P.S: are you less beautiful now? (LOL)

Now this was worth getting out of bed for sleepy head! Stunning photos, now go and give your precious wife a huge hug and thank her for waking you up, or maybe just give her a hug and thank her but don't say what for or she may wake you early every day! ;-)

I love how you have your blog set up, has it been this way for a while and I just haven't been paying enough attention? Or is this new? I looks awesome!

That is a beautiful way to start the day, even without the first cup of coffee!

Vooral die eerste foto met die prachtige warme lucht vind ik schitterend Rick!! Ook je andere foto's zijn heel mooi waarbij het bruggetje er ook echt uitspringt.
