(Day 153) Seas(ons) of colour

There's a phenomenon that I've gradually noticed over the years (7) that we've lived here on our little piece of paradise. There are lots of wildflowers here (and I'm no botanist, so I rely on people smarter than me to identify them). I've been dazzled by them as I saw them individually, up close. But we seem to have predominant colour themes over the spring/summer/fall seasons. Right now the theme is yellow, and I recall from previous years that we also have a blue theme and a white theme (flowers, not snow!) and perhaps others that I didn't notice.

So I thought I'd try to show the yellow wildflower theme - that I had no hand in nurturing. And while I was looking at this sea of colour, I also noticed a couple of other 'seas' of colour.

How beautiful are your wild flowers Rick! What a wonderful place to shoot photos of your grandchildren or the ladies in your life. I can see beautiful photos of people dressed in white (only white) sitting, lying amongst the flowers! Thats if there isn't too many bees!!
So pretty!
You are a lucky, lucky man!

Fabulous! You just can't top nature for her color palate, can you? I think it would behoove you to just enjoy every color she decides to present to you!! Of course, you'll need to photograph them to share. That goes without saying, doesn't it?

@Katherine - thank you Katherine; I'll have to ask the ladies next time they're all here to get assembled for a photo shoot (I can hear the groans already :) Yes, I think it would look wonderful - will see what I can arrange. Fortunately not that many bees - just enough honey bees I think to keep the pollination going. Lucky ? You bet!!

@CherylK - I do try to enjoy it, every day! Good thing we weren't in charge of making this creation - what artist could have topped or even equaled this ? And I will share, of course :) Thanks for stopping by Cheryl.

@Julia - thanks Julia! As for taking your advice, I already had the shots, but your advice did help me decide what series of shots from today to use :O)

@Scott - since winter's freeze lifted and spring revealed everything again, photographic life has certainly gotten easier around here. Thanks for your comments Scott!

Rick there are beautiful photos. Have you noticed that since you've started taking a photo every day that you now view the world differently? I find that I see things which I didn't really notice before, I appreciate more, and whoever came up with this P365 idea is to be commended. Speaking of which, the man who started this up apparently said that he took a photo of himself at least once a month so that he could look back in time to see how or if he'd changed. Interesting concept don't you think?

I can see why you call your place your paradise, it's so beautiful!

Good night and God bless you and yours! :-)

Isn't life wonderful? How we came to be and how lovely our universe is?

Wish more people will pause once on a while and pay attention to all the beauty that's around us.

Lovely spring flowers.

Love the flowers and lilypads. I had one lily and it flowered and a raccoon ate the whole thing.

@darlin - thank you; yes, I think I'm 'seeing' much more, in better detail, and from different perspectives than before I started this project. It is challenging, but rewarding. And it's also amazing how many great people there are out there with a similar passion, and willingness to share. Hope your day went very well. (I've been having lots of internet problems the last few days esp. with google and blogger.com - I just tried another firewall-related 'fix'; hopefully it works 'cause it's hindering posting to my blog and visiting others. VERY frustrating!).

@Chad - thanks Chad; I think we share a similar blessing - your scenic shots are fabulous, and there also seem to be endless possibilities.

@M. Hassan - you're absolutely right! And if people would stop to realize all the beauty and plenty that was provided to us they'd have a whole lot less reason to hate each other. Thanks for coming by.

@POD - thank you; I love lily pads too and especially blooming water lilies - I've got one (white) now but we usually have 7-10 at a time, incl. pink, red, yellow (maybe I'll post one soon). Hopefully a raccoon doesn't go after ours :(

Rick, this is one of my faves that you've posted ever. I really like the theme of seas of colour and you really did it justice! I might just have to see how many seas I can find in my files, it's an intriguing theme!

I really like that you used three different DOFs in the post, it adds variety on another level, on top of the different colours.

:o)
