I've always had some problems in life following rules (my wife, if she weren't sleeping, would be nodding vehemently in agreement) - but I only don't follow rules that don't seem to make sense to me. Obviously there are many rules that I do follow - because they make sense, like 'look both ways before crossing the street, do unto others as you'd like them to do unto you', etc.
So if there's a project 365 rule that says to only post 1 photo per day, then I've broken it. And if there's also a rule that says only 1 post per day, I've broken it too. Well, that was a lot of verbiage to say that I'm going to do another post for today - depending on where you are, that's either Monday or Tuesday (although in Australia it might already be Wednesday or Thursday - they always seem to be into another day already, let alone another time zone!).
Why am I doing this ? Well, I made some photos of my grandson tonight, and I also had made some (well, many then) of my granddaughters when they were here 2 weeks ago, and I thought I'd share them with you. You'll see why they pull at my heart strings.
(all photos made with my Sigma 50mm f1.4 lens)
In order of age:
Hailey (5)
Lilly (3)
Graydon (5 months)

Maybe you've just created a new rule: 365 photos/post every day!! ;)
All great pictures. I really like the attitude of Lilly that you captured, though :)

Oh Brian your grandchildren are so, so beautiful! I certainly can see how they pull at your heartstrings ... beautiful little blue eyed cherubs!!! Wow...thanks for sharing them with us! You are one very lucky man, truly blessed...but you already know that!!! Have a great day!
It is difficult to tell with your little profile picture but I think Hailey looks a little like her grandad!
Amazingly beautiful children :-)
You must be one PROUD Grandaddy :-)
Greetz,
Joseph
Beautiful grandkids, Rick !! Precious to us, each and everyone, those blue eyes and chubby cheeks on Graydon are amazing !! All too cute, you are really blessed !!
@Photog Ave - LOL - THAT would be a challenge! You're right about Lilly - she can have attitude alright (then, what 3 year old doesn't!). Thanks Avery.
@Katherine - I'm going to have to start calling you Josephine if you call me 'Brian' ;-)
But I am really blessed (" ... 'grand'children are a gift from God; blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them" - slight adaptation).
Thanks Katherine. Hope your week is going well too!
@CarreraCaballo - thanks Joseph. And I am!
@bonifer - thank you; yes, they are a real blessing to us. Always a treat when they're here. Oh, and of course we enjoy their parents' company too ;-)
They are beautiful and your photographs are KEEPERS! I say, you can break all rules with grandchildren! You can even give them candy when their parents say, "NO!"
Lovely grand-kids. You must be proud of them ;)
Real cute G.Children Rick, they make for a happy Heart.
Oh I do apologize Rick... I did write that didn't I!!! Sorry(she says with a red face) I had a dreadful day yesterday.. I really shouldn't have left the house. I went to get a prescription made up at the chemist & realized I left it at the doctors. Had to organize for it to be faxed over then when I went to pay I discovered my wallet was not in my handbag. SOS phone-call to son at home whom lovingly delivered it to me! So I really was out of myself yesterday!! On new antibiotics now which I hope will do the trick! See ya Bri- oh no sorry Rick!!! LOL
Beautiful photos of your grandchildren. The one of Hailey is exceptional.---Almost every time I leave a comment I go back to find its not there,I forget after clicking on post com. that I have to go back down for the pass word. Is there a way to have it by the comment box?
Aren't grandkids just the best ...
Fotos lindas! Cheias de encanto...
A última está espetacular!
Beijos.
Absolutely precious, Rick! I love the expressions you've captured on their perfect little faces.
The absolute BEST reason to be a photographer is to capture beautiful memories of our loved ones! Everything else we take pictures of is, well, not as important! (Just my humble opinion!)
Those are absolutely the cutest pictures that you have put on your blog! What a bunch of cute grand kids!!!
@Carolyn Ford - LOL - isn't that the truth! (we do break a few of those rules sometimes - when the parents aren't looking, of course ;-)
@M. Hassan - thanks M - sure am!
@imac - absolutely mac! Thanks for coming by.
@Katherine - ha ha, I didn't mean to pick on you, especially since you were already having such a rough day! You can call me Brian - but only occasionally ;-) ... and if the real Brian doesn't mind.
@Chad - thanks Chad. Re: posting comments - I'll see what changes I can make so it's easier - but I don't know html (other than what I learned from Scott).
@S. Etole - yes they are - and grandparents have so much more time (and experience) to enjoy them than when they were parents themselves!
@teca - muito obrigado (hopefully that translates as 'thank you very much'!) and thank you for following.
@Krista - thank you Krista - they're absolutely lovable!
@Karen - couldn't agree more! We've run out of wall space for family photos.
@Julia - thanks Julia! You know they're the best!
Lovely, simply lovely! and I smile when I think of freckles some 60 years ago. ;)
Enough to say, you are blessed, Rick!
Kee Rick now you've got my heart on stings too. Gosh they are tooooo cute.
And there is no better way than a Granddad's way of taking there images...
Thanks for sharing your precious beauties with us. Hugs Dag
ps I keep forget telling you that nobody calls me Dag except my best friend and you...kind of special you've started it on your own. I like it.
Hugs again.
@Diana (Di) - thank you Di; glad it brought back some good memories!
@joey - I have to remind myself regularly to count them!
@Barefoot from Heaven - thanks Dag! They grow up waaaay too fast! One day they're 5 and the next day they're 18!!
Ha ha - I must just be lazy on the keyboard; didn't even realize I was calling you Dag; well, we are on a first name basis here, right ? ;-)
Ok, it's confession time - I've broken many of my Project 365 rules too !!!
You have lovely grand kids and your photos taken with the Sigma have turned out really well! I'm considering the Nikon 50mm f1.4 too.
@J.J.S. - thanks Joel. I got that lens primarily for indoor shots in low light (I don't like flash); but I use it outdoors too - I really like it, and I get to use my 'foot zoom'. ;-)
awwwwwww...you have every right to break the rules with these gorgeous angels in your life.
@Jeanne Klaver - they sure are! And they grow up so darn fast!
How did I miss this post I am asking myself, nonetheless now I've seen why you called this post Heart String Pullers, your grandchildren are so adorable! And really now, how could you seriously post only one of these sweethearts? There's no way in the world to have done that, when it comes to grandchildren there are no rules other than look both ways before crossing the street and such! :-)
@darlin - easy to do; I've missed some on other blogs myself. Time just marches on and sometimes it's tough to keep up!
