Oh boy, that's a pretty lame title once you see today's photos. Hopefully the photos make up for it. I was out after dinner 'playing' near the pond with the 70-200mm f2.8 lens. A few months ago I had bought the 2x extender for it and although it reduces the amount of light available it's great to bring those hard to reach subjects in a bit closer. Have a look.
On a different subject, I think the blogger issues from last night are fixed. Thank goodness I had it to blame because it was the day I was honoured by Scott by being featured as his special guest photographer and my thank you comment on his blog was replicated 4 extra times! After that experience I decided not to comment anywhere else.
On to today's shots:
(70-200mm f5.6 1/320 sec ISO200)
(70-200mm f5.6 1/250 sec ISO200)
(70-200mm f5.6 1/100 sec ISO200)

Fabulous reflections! I especially like the red rock...it never disappoints. Beautiful.
I found your site on Scott's blog so you now know that your 4 repeated comments got you a new follower! I'm serious!
@Carolyn Ford - thank you Carolyn. I appreciate your comments and that you're a follower. LOL - I thought I had done something that caused all those comments on Scott's blog, then discovered blogger was having all sorts of problems. Phew.
Wow, beautiful shots once again Rick. The reflection photo is stunning! I'm going to have to check out that lens you mentioned and the extender, I've never heard of one of them before. Do they work with all lenses?
I'm so happy that blogger is up and running again, no more DTs for me tonight! :-) I don't like to get behind on seeing others photos, I feel like a part of my day is missing as I mentioned.
Now off to check out your comments on Scott's blog! lol
Hi there Rick, wow these images you've captured are beautiful. So you had fun fooling around with your new lens uh? Well done.
Ask me over next time so we can play along together you have wonderful features around your pond.
Now I'll be hopping over to Scott's and see what you've done there.
Hugs Dag.
@darlin - thank you for the kind comments. I'm not sure which lenses the extender works with (the Canon website will tell you) - I got it specifically for my 70-200 telephoto lens.
Blogger seems to be working but I'll wait till tomorrow to visit most blogs.
@Barefoot from Heaven - hi Dag, welcome back, and thank you. My ponds are always available, just bring your camera! Thanks for stopping by Dag and hope your week is going well!
It certainly is a wow factor post Rick, I think my fav is the 1st shot.
I LOVE shot one, Rick!
Water lilies are one of my favorites.
And congrats on being the guest photographer! You deserve it!

Hi Rick... great images! I love photos with reflections and these are amazing, I like them all. Can you explain the second one to me? Is it a bud on a water lilly? I'm happy for you that you sorted out the Gremlin activity in blogger! Anyways hope your having a lovely day!
Great reflections, Rick! And congrats on being the 'guest photographer' on Scott's blog, you well deserve it!! :)
@imac - thank you mac; I'm just waiting for that one to open.
@Photog Ave - thanks Avery - on both counts.
@Katherine - one of my favourite places to make photos - the pond - endless opportunities. That second one is also a water lily bud that's getting ready to open. The small stem with little red flowers isn't part of it - that's from some other water plants growing in the pond - I'd never noticed them till I made this photo and blew it up.
As for the gremlins - I think Google played a major role in that - hopefully that's the end of it.
@bonifer - thanks for your kind words!
Congrats on the special guest thing. Sounds amazing and I think the guy made a good choice.
Love your photos a lot and I hope you will follow up with some photos of the top 2, I'm curious about how they would look in like 3 days.
I have never seen flowers growing out of the water like this before! How awesome; I really like the reflection in that first shot.
I'm glad your gremlin issues are getting sorted out. Isn't google grand? :o)
Were you laying on your pond when you took the first 2 shots? Those are amazing!!!
@M. Hassan - thank you M. I'm just waiting for them to fully open - then I'll post a shot.
@Krista - I didn't notice them either till I looked at the large version of the shot, although I'd seen the little shoots sticking above the water. Thanks Krista.
Looks like Google finally fixed their issues - I think (hope) that was related to my internet issues - seems better today (shhhh, in case the gremlins are listening).
@Julia - well, not quite on the pond but right down low in front of it. Thanks Julia.
What fun these photos are! I love reflections. The last one has me guessing, then knowing, then guessing...
@Jeanne Klaver - I even have to look at that last one a few times to see what is real and what is a reflection. The light and calmness of the water really helped sharpen the reflection.
