(Day 164) 1000 Islands
Today's tour took us to the famous 1000 Islands in the St. Lawrence seaway. We stayed on the Canadian side of the border, crossing over the bridge on Hill Island and took in the view from the 122 metre/400' high Skydeck. What a beautiful water playground. If you've never been, add it to your places to visit and take a river cruise. Tell 'em I sent you (just so you can watch their expression when they say "WHO?").

Ohh Rick you really live in the country of my heart. Did you know about 6 years ago we also had all the papers in the house to move??? well we did untill my hubby got cold feet...and now now my heart is aching everytime I visit all you guys...

As always; really great shots, Rick! I LOVE the lighting and great big blue sky in that top shot. And, I'm always a sucker for silhouettes, it's really neat how you did that with the people in front of the sunset.

@Krista - thank you Krista. It was such a beautiful place it was easy to make some photos. The sunset was from our trip to Florida in Feb. (I'm trying to build a small set of sunset shots so I can participate in Scott's Sunset Sundays).
Really enjoyed the company - two 18 year old lads from the Netherlands - they're off now to continue their visit to Canada.

@Ruth's Photo Blog - thanks Ruth. I think you would certainly enjoy a visit there. I'm not very knowledgeable about birds but I do know we have quite a variety here, including herons, ospreys, eagles, many types of ducks and geese, etc.
@J.J.S. - thanks Joel. Yes, that 70-200 is a superb lens (comes with a superb price too :) but well worth it. I recently bought the 2x extender that goes with it - gives me an effective 140-400mm.

Your photos are stunning and make me want to come out to visit. I was only ever in TO and Kingston, TO is way to big but Kingston is amazing with all of the rock buildings that apparently prisoners built when there was "hard time" to be served. This was all pre-computer days when I was there, yup it's been that long so I've never thought to google that information.
You have water as beautiful as BC's I see, amazingly beautiful and once again you have captured your part of the world masterfully!
