I'm still fascinated by the different plants that grow au naturel here in the south. I found a couple more here today - the one looks like a type of cedar but has flowers in it that look like sea shells! The second was composed primarily of very brilliant red leaves (no flowers that I could find). I'm sure someone out there in blogland will know what these are - if so, please educate me.

I'm now curious as well what these are, they're beautiful! Awesome photos once again Rick!
Mooie foto's, aparte planten Rick. Ik ken ze niet.
I am terrible at plant identification but these are both interesting and beautiful. Great captures!
The white inbetween the green looks lovely.
the reds are so rich in that 2nd photo.
very lovely.
Hey, I have that conifer in my backyard and they have those little things on them too, but I couldn't capture them well this morning.
You did a great job, they look from this point of view like little lumpy stars.
Oh cedar trees :-)
The second photo is very interesting - If you look at it from a distance it looks more like a close-up of a piece of cloth!
Greetz,
Joseph
@darlin - I was hoping you might know :-) I'll have to wait a little longer or try to find out via google. Have a great Friday.
@Riet - die zullen ze ook wel niet in Nederland hebben. Ik vond ze zo mooi maar ik weet nog niet wat ze genoemd zijn. Fijn weekend Riet!
@Krista - thanks Krista; thought you'd come through for me with the names ;-) I guess the names don't really matter - they're still lovely plants. TGIF tomorrow!
@Haddock - thank you for visiting and commenting. Look forward to a return visit.
@chasity - yes, that's what really caught my attention. Thanks for stopping by.
Nice Rick... I think the first one is some kind of a pine tree or shrub. The other I think is a broad leafed cordaline.. Lovely photos
@M. Hassan - thank you M; you're right - they do look like little stars. I've done some searching but haven't discovered the name yet - possibly some kind of juniper.
@CarreraCaballo - yes, cedars of Lebanon Joseph! Those red leaves do look a little unreal with that intense colour. Have a great weekend.
I don't remember the name of the plant in the first photo, but we had them growing around our home when I was young. I remember picking off the bagworms. Great photos, Rick.
@Katherine - I think you nailed that 2nd one Katherine - thank you! Have a great weekend.
@Jeanne Klaver - I had to look up bagworms and learned something else today - thanks Jeanne!
