(Day 175) Up, Up, and Away ...
Today was going home day and it was a beautiful day for flying. Unlike the trip down, there were no delays, in fact, both legs of the journey were actually a little ahead of schedule. The aircraft on the second leg was relatively small - what I call a 'puddle jumper' (don't tell the flight crew that). I decided to make it the subject of my post tonight.

Wow cool aerial photos Rick... I love to fly but think I would probably get a tad nervous in a small plane but it certainly did look like the perfect weather to fly.
Hope you had a great trip and are home safely. I'm not a good flier and when we were in Alaska we took a 4 man 'puddle jumper' with a pilot that looked like he was 14. I was scared to death. I think I held my breath the whole flight!! I'm getting heart palpitations just looking at your photos!!!

These are cool and Phun. Believe me the crew already knows it's called a puddle jumper. I looked back through your past several photos and as always you've kept up your tradition of having several beauties. Great job.

Feel like I'm landing there, too ...
@Katherine - I'm always reminded of David Bowie's Space Oddity: "Here am I sitting in a tin can, far above the world" when I'm in a plane. It's always nice to put both feet back on solid ground.
@Karen - yep, back home, safely! Flying in a 'Puddle Jumper' can be a bit more 'exciting' than the large jets, but I don't usually like too much excitement when I'm flying. I prefer it when 'getting there is half the fun!'

Were you just making sure that you didn't have a flat tire again and how did you get that shot, lean out the window? lol
@Julia - LOL! Yep, one flat tire per trip is enough. I just rolled the window down and got my shot! Ha ha!!
Holy moly... the shot of the landing gear made me a little nauseous... not from photo quality though, just the angle made me feel like I was hanging upside down beneath the plane. You and I both know the best seat is UPRIGHT, on top of the wing. ;o)
@Krista - ha ha; this 'puddle jumper' had an overhead wing - at least it was over my head! Next time though I'll ask the flight attendant to clean the window before we take off - this one was quite smudged. Either that or give me a seat with a roll down window ;-)
