Note: my internet gremlins have been creeping back but this time - and likely before - they appear to be related to my ISP having network problems, which they acknowledged in a lengthy chat with their tech support this evening. Extremely slow upload/download is happening which hampers my ability to visit other blogs, look at others' work, and comment, not to mention uploading a few shots of my own. It may take me a few days to get around to visit you, till they resolve the issue. That banging sound you've been hearing was my head bouncing off my desk in frustration!

@Scott - almost seems like an oxymoron - a monochrome sunset! However, I found that the clouds and light seemed more effective in this case in b&w. Thanks Scott.

These shots are magnificent! I love using black and white for shots from a nice clear bright day. :o) The clouds in these shots just adds another great element of interest.
I feel your pain on the internet issues. Blogger is behaving well for me these days but it doesn't always! Hang in there, try not to bash your head TOO hard. ;o)

@Krista - thanks Krista. I've only occasionally tried my hand (finger ?) at monochrome but I like the effect it gave to the sky.
I'm trying to stay calm re: network issues but I'm only getting about 15% of my promised network speed, which r e a l l y m a k e s t h i n g s s l o o o o o w w!

Hi Rick ... my week is going well although still have so much happening at present. Have managed to peruse my way through a few blogs but unfortunately not all! I did look through your other photos but did not leave comments on them all. They are wonderful as usual. I still haven't got around to taking anymore photos. I am hoping & praying for better weather this weekend so we can go exploring! Our plans were squashed last weekend due to bad weather. Fingers, toes & everything crossed!
@Katherine - gee, things must be really busy for you if you haven't even been able to pick up the camera! Thanks for taking time to look at some of my photos though. Hopefully your weather allows you and Eddie to get out this weekend. Since you're out of appendages to cross, I'll cross a few of mine for you ;-)
Dark skies but awesome skies. Love how the sun brightened some part of the sky while other parts are dark.
I think the black & white was a super choice!

@M. Hassan - thank you M; the sun was fairly bright so there wasn't much colour in the sky - the b&w helped with the contrast between light & dark.
