I set out late one afternoon recently, during the short interlude between visitors, to search out a location to capture a sunset. Heading west on a nearby island I thought it a certainty to find an ideal spot along the coast. Much to my chagrin I found that access in most areas was blocked by impenetrable mangrove swamps, and what wasn't blocked by nature was blocked by man - manicured lots surrounding waterfront mansions. I watched the sunset that evening from the car as I returned home, my camera's shutter having remained undisturbed.
A couple of days later, however, I set out again. Despite being delayed, first by a malfunctioning traffic signal, and then by a police standoff along my intended route, I made my destination in time. Perhaps I need to set the alarm again soon to capture the sun breaking out a new day versus chasing the sun at the end of the day.
Regardless of whether we see sunset or sunrise, we can say with the psalmist, "This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Beautiful pictures. Yes,each day is special, because it was designed for us by a loving Heavenly Father.
My goodness! Glorious!
I'm thinking morning would be safer, people just don't get up that early, esp those who would cause or result in a police standoff!
Yes, there's a Mary at the farm... 3 donkeys - Joseph, Mary & Moses... Mary is the mother of Moses, but Joseph isn't the dad. LoL! =)

Fantastic photos my friend, well worth the travel, I hope to get some shots of the midnight sun in Iceland soon.
So lovely and calm Rick.
Very lovely pictures of the sunset. Here in Central Europe we have such a longing to view the sun in this darkest winter (less hours of sunlight)for the last 60 years.

Amen!
The sunset is worth a second, third, even a fourth trip out in my opinion and you've captured it brilliantly. Amazing photos which have me missing seeing the sun set over the ocean, actually even just seeing any sunset would be fantastic right about now!
Have fun with the getting up early to take photos of the sunrise! lol
Wonderful pictures, Rick, especially the last one. Greetings, Joke
God bless you.
