No plagiarism intended - I just thought those words best described today's subject. Our peonies appear to be on steroids and the supports that had worked over the past years are not able to contain the weight of all the blooms this year. And we only have so many vases to fill. We're hoping the weather stays at the lower end of hot for another little while so we can enjoy these just a bit longer. What splendour!

Rick these are beautiful! My sister just bought a few peonies plants and she also got these stands which hold up the tops of the plants. I've never seen them before and thought that they were a rather interesting concept, it might be something you're interested at looking into for your lovely peonies.
@darlin - thank you! I do have the wire stands which are over 30" tall, but the peonies are even taller than that with lots of very heavy blooms. Everything was standing pretty straight up till the blooms opened. Are your sister's stands something different/taller?
Now this is a peony!
Color is great! I really like the last shot.
Reminds me of some of my peony shots. I should dig them up (no pun intended ;)

@Avery - thanks Avery. You need to be quick (in a relative way) to get peony shots - when it's hot they don't last too long. (ha ha - nice pun, even if unintended - those are the best).
Hi Rick - thanks for visiting my site and for your words of encouragement. I have enjoyed visting you - you are a wonderful photographer.
Soooo pretty!! So vivid & so, so pink! I think pretty in pink is a very befitting name for these beautiful shots Rick! Love, Love, Love them! :)
Sorry for not being able to comment on your past photos, very busy and confused lately.
Love the colors in your shot. I think the composition is amazing and the bee added flavor to your second shot, but my favorite is the last one. Love the selected focus and POV.
Pretty in Pink for sure, Rick, all are so nice, I especially love the first one..
I like the one with the bee or wasp :-)
Greetz,
Joseph
Really great shots Rick! I particularly like the last one, the DOF make me think I want to lay my face down on this flower and go (back) to dreamland!

my favorite is the last one.

@M. Hassan - thank you M - hope things are looking up for you. (I've been having internet problems lately and photos from flickr wouldn't load). I appreciate your kind words.
@bonifer - thank you; it would be a challenge NOT to take a good photo of peonies.
@CarreraCaballo - thanks Joseph; he caught my eye with all that pollen on his legs.
@Krista - ha ha - I had to take (at least) one like that just because the petal arrangement is so intricate. Sweet dreams! :)
@chasity - thank you; amazing creations, aren't they!
@imac - I'll be around for a look at yours mac; thanks for your comments.
