'T was that golden hour of the day and it was a perfect time to scout around for those photo ops just waiting to be discovered. So, camera in hand, I went walking (and sometimes crawling - yes, my wife thinks I'm crazy!) around the back yard and soon came back with a card full of potentials to sort through. Here's what caught my eye.

You are really good, Rick! That is my first thought upon seeing this post. You've got a great talent!
I particularly like the DOF in the top shot, and the colours are really pretty!
The bottom on reminds me of asparagus, which is a good thing because I like asparagus. :o)
Golden hour...no kidding! These are so beautiful! I love the red stems in the middle photo.
Those are Golden photos. Thanks for sacrificing your knees and elbows for us.
Like all the photos, but I like the color contrast and dof found in your 2nd picture.
I hope you are enjoying your photos as much as I am ...
Aw, the golden glow ... the top photo particularly is stunning!
love them all but the first one would have to be my favourite. Great talent you have there and thank you for sharing
Rick I have to agree that the first photo is my favorite, this one really stands out for me. I guess that it could have something to do with the fact that I love gold!
Stunning photos once again. You're not crazy, you only have a passion which makes you do some crazy things! :-)
Great pics, Rick! Love your 'golden hour' theme. I especially love the first one, too, neat!!
beautiful images, colors and more colors, I loved it.
visit my blog too. hug
Great Golden shots Rick... 3 very lovely photos.
Is the first one a mulberry tree?
wow rick....those are all amazing. such wonderful warm colors. love the bokeh in the first photo~ fantastic!!
these were definitely worth crawling around for.
Eeeeuuuuww Rick stunning ways to take new views into your garden....I would LOVE to see you crawl and take nice goodies for us.
Yeeehaaa ;-)))
Prachtige foto's Rick, zulke mooie kleuren,.
Awesome use of light. The flowers really have a golden look, and the lighting at the back of the objects are sublime.
Love the shots and the warmth from them Rick.
Boa! ;)
Beijos.
@Krista - thank you Krista *blush*
I had to 'break' a rule on that first one - I shot almost into the sun, but the late day light looked so nice. Ha ha - I can send you a piece of that 'asparagus' (it's actually the end of a pine branch - bon apetit)
@Carolyn Ford - the light is so nice then! Thank you - that's the stem of a small maple I planted last year.
@Scott - ha ha - my wife just gives me that puzzled look when she sees me crawling around :-)
@Chad - thank you Chad; that little maple also had a few reddish leaves on top but I thought they looked too much like fall already.
@S. Etole - yes, thank you; only just a little more than crawling around making them ;-)
@joey - thank you joey - also a favourite of mine.
@lavender lady - thank you, and my pleasure.
@darlin - phew, thanks for the vote for my sanity - I'm going to repeat that line to my wife! ;-)
@bonifer - thanks; it's amazing how light reacts with objects to almost cast a spell on them (I'm rarely up to see that effect in the morning).
@Rodrigo Rodrigues - obrigado (thank you ?)
I appreciate your visit and following; visited your blog too - see my comment there.
@Katherine - thank you Katherine; the first photo is a white birch; got them as saplings about 5 years ago from a friend - they're almost 20' tall now and just lovely.
@chasity - LOL; I wasn't too sure at first while I was making them but then got into the spirit of it (and got carried away - happens to me occasionally ;-) Thanks for stopping by.
@Barefoot from Heaven - thank you Dag; photography gives me an excuse to do weird things - at least in my own back yard! :-)
@Riet - dank u wel. 't was ook zo'n mooie avond - 't kon niet anders.
@M. Hassan - thanks M - it was a perfect evening with the sun at just the right angle; we're lucky we get that near the house because we have lots of woods elsewhere.
@imac - thank you mac (at least the light looked warm; it was a rather cool evening to be crawling around the yard ;-)
@teca - thank you for your visit; your blog is quite interesting (now you have me listening to the Beatles ;-)
Great!!! Beatiful photos.
Regards
Roberto
