He ain't heavy, he's my brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where

But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go

His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there

For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another

It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share

And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

Oh my God Rick....I've been away for such a long time, I longed for you post and as if today I was finally ready to be back in blogland. And the very first news that flew into my home was the loss of your brother. I am so deeply sorry for your loss, and for your families loss. Do know that in my heart I am with you the next following days in wich I hope I can carry a little of your burden.

May the farewell be beautiful and may your brother be remembered in all your hearts.

To all my fellow bloggers: words are inadequate at times like this. I'm grateful for the outpouring of warmth and support through all your comments.

Life takes on a different perspective when events like this occur, as many of you are aware. Suddenly we're reminded of our own mortality - which isn't something we like to do in our culture. But life goes on for the living, even if not exactly the same as before. There are some tasks that need to be done yet but I will get back into photography and blogging. soon.

Thank you, and may God bless and keep you all.

I hope that you are beginning to heal and have been able to relish in the good times the two of you had together. I love you and look forward to seeing you when you're back. Graydon misses you too!
