Hot off the sensor

The only reason that the pixels you see below have cooled off a little is due to the (lack of) speed of my internet connection. The sun just set and I was able to catch its last moments before it left to rise in someone else's backyard. I hurried here to post a couple of shots. (I needn't have - it's taken 1-1/2 hours to try to load this - see below).

Since I wasn't able to post last night, I'm claiming a late Sunday Sunset post slot.

[Xplornet (our ISP) is sending a tech to our home tomorrow morning. I no longer wait with bated breath for a technical miracle. If there's any truth to the saying that misery loves company than I can be heartened by the fact that Xplornet (perhaps inadvertently) admitted that others in this area are experiencing similar problems - perhaps that will spur a resolution. Until that glorious day arrives, however, my ability to visit you is severely impaired - my download speed hovers around 0.02 Mbps almost every evening (it should be at 3.0 Mbps), and at other times during the day - it can take 20+ minutes for a blog to load, including my own. I haven't thrown the towel in yet, however ... I appreciate your visits and comments, and as my connection allows I will try to respond and visit.]

Spectacular! Just keep on clicking and when things are running smoothly you can share all those beautiful images.

Great shots Rick! I can't help but be a little envious as I was coming home this same evening from a late meeting and witnessed a very similar color to the setting evening sun. But since I pulled the absolute no no and left my camera at home, I didn't get the shots. Ah! But I was thrilled to open my blog and see your beautiful shots. Thanks for easing my pain this evening with your pictures. So sorry about the computer thing. Technology is great, except when it doesn't work.

Rick know you are missed when you can't post and no rush to get to blogs, they won't go anywhere. Mind you in saying this I know how much I'd miss my internet if something were to happen and I had no access. I wish you all the best tomorrow morning, I hope they fix the problem and get you up to speed.

Your Sunday Sunset shots are stunning, the colors are amazing and I'm WOWED once again. You NEVER cease to amaze and impress.

Take care and see you when... well when we see you again. I hope you have a wonderful week, with or without the net.

Beautiful photo's, how terrible to have those troubles with the internet. I hate that and can become so angry when it (sometimes) happens. But I have never had that waiting time of you. Hope the problems will be solved soon. It is not fun to blog this way, sterkte!

Gorgeous colors in these shots. I always love getting a good capture from a sunset...or sunrise. Good luck with your ISP. We had problems with ours a couple of years ago and it was very aggravating.

Thank you, Ruth. My connection was working tonight so I could post, AND visit !

Glad I was able to fill the void, Randy ;-) I know what it's like to 'miss the shot' so I got pretty good at ABC ! It was a gorgeous opportunity though.

Thank you, Elizabeth. It's working tonight but I may just be lucky. Time will tell ...

Thanks Dawn - I just had to 'point and shoot' !

Dank je wel, Riet.

Hi Darlene - we've been blessed recently with amazing sunsets - I'm out almost every evening capturing more so I'm set for a bunch of Sunset Sundays ! I don't think they've fixed my problems yet although there's work going on at the tower. Tomorrow I'll be following up (again) but I'm taking advantage of it working tonight. Have a wonderful week !

Dank je wel, Marianne. Yes, it's VERY frustrating to post and even worse to try and visit when it's SO slow. Thankfully it's working tonight - although it's getting a little late (or early).

Thank you, Leslie. It's a real test of my patience ...

Obrigado, Fábio !

Ha ha Stewart - I agree. Every day you can wake up to is a good day !

Thank you, teca - yes, nature is a red hot lover ! I send you some red hot beijos for a warm week !

Thank you, Laura - I just can't get enough of them and just grab my camera every evening (as my wife gives me a puzzling look).

Thanks Farmchick. I agree - I try to capture images of most sunsets; they're all different and spectacular in their own way. As for the ISP, I wish I had some options, but ... a downside of rural life.

Danke, Nina - and thank you for your visit; I went over to your blog - lovely (tried to follow but not sure it was successful).

Thank you, Soraia !
