Not forgotten

To all the heroes of 9/11
Who look upon us from highest heaven
Whose memories we'll ne'er forget
On whom the sun will never set.

Dedicated to all the men and women who gave their lives in the valiant rescue efforts of that tragic day. "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)

A glorious sunset followed by the rising of the full moon marked the closing of this day of remembrance.

And 'Amen' to your post tonight too, Elizabeth.

Thank you, Scott (these were all of the same sunset, taken from various places on our property tonight).

Rick your tribute is lovely. Your shots... well I wanna live where you live if all of these were taken in one night! lol They're all so beautiful, my favorite... hmmm, I had to go back and it's a toss up between the first one and the third. I'm going to pick the 3rd one because it's so country and that's where my heart is!

Have a wonderful week... I just thought of it, to upload all these photos your net must be working just fine tonight! Gooodd stuff. lol I had to come back the word verification tonight on this end is goodd. :-)

my dear friend...

wonderful tribute to remember that so sad day. I wish we all have peace, and things like that never happen again. I was watching TV last night and I felt the pain remembering that unforgetable sad day.

Have a wonderful week my friend. And life goes on...

Hugs.

Rick, A beautiful poem and very appropriate bible verse to go with it. Wonderful shots and I especially like number 3! You may be in a drought for rain but there is no drought in the beauty in your area.

Thank you Darlene - maybe this year has been exceptional but we've had a lot of gorgeous sunsets here. And yes, when I posted this (and made a few visits) the internet connection was goodd ;-) It's pretty pathetic tonight but I'm going to try to catch up on comments. Have a great weekend !

Thanks, Laura. Here I am on Friday - I hope your week was a good one !

Dank je wel, Marianne. Fijn weekend !

Thank you very much, Ruth.

Obrigado, Fábio !

Yes, I think the skies were in unison with our thoughts. That text struck me as I thought about all the brave rescuers from that day who paid the ultimate price. Thanks, Leslie.

Thanks for your kind words, Randy. It's been a year of beautiful skies, drought or not.

Thank you, Saz. It's a day none of us who lived through it will ever forget.

Thanks, Stewart. I got that moon shot just as I prepared to go inside (reminded me of Cat Steven's "I'm Being Followed By A Moon Shadow").

Thank you, Lisa. One of the frustrations with the connection is intermittent performance, although most evenings it's quite dead.

Mahalo, Cloudia. Just a small thing we can do to pay tribute. Aloha !
