A tale of 2 cities

A couple of our daughters sent us photographic evidence yesterday that winter had not quite yet released its icy grip up north. We're harbouring a not-so-secret hope that it will slip quietly into history and make way for spring before our return.

Here's what we found in our southern yard yesterday:

Contrast that to their experience:

I'd stay down south as long as possible, Rick!
Spring is having an awfully difficult time getting here in the northeast.

Wonderful images!

Yes, you probably shouldn't return home just yet. We had about 4 cm. of snow last night although it's melting today. The storm was a bad one for a lot of folk and we got off lucky. Beautiful photos of your back yard down south. The ice has it's own beauty as well. Pamela

Het weer is overal extreem lijkt het. Hier hebben we eindelijk een beetje warmte, eind april bijna, na een heeeel lange winter.

Rick it's worse weather wise here in Alberta, there's a lot of the white stuff still on the ground and we got another huge dump of snow on Saturday. The forecast is still calling for more snow.

I only wish I was somewhere like you are with beautiful flowers and in colors other than drab grey and black snow! How much longer until you take the journey back home?

Have a wonderful day Rick, love the photos!

Very cool to compare the two in this manner. I know which one I'd choose for the month of April!
