The weather folks have forecasted 4 days of rain, starting tomorrow. While I'm not opposed to making photos in rainy weather (in fact rainy days can present excellent and interesting photo ops), I had a specific spot in mind early this evening that would be much less inviting if the chest-high grass was dripping wet.
And so, Sasha and I spent a quiet hour and a half watching the sun set and the full moon rise, during which time I tripped the shutter on a few occasions. Oh, yes, I did capture the sunset - which would be difficult over the next four days - but I'll save it for Sunset Sunday.
Note: I've been making some visits to you kind folks who leave comments here when my internet connection permits; I haven't been able to visit all of you (yet) but I'm plodding along. Within a few weeks I hope to be down south where I'll get to enjoy blinding (well, by comparison) internet speed :-)
(images for these 2 shots were made with an 18-55mm lens, at f16, ISO200 and shutter speeds ranging from 1/2 to 13 secs; Photomatix was used to render the HDR images)

Best regards
Very beautiful !!
Wonderful HDR work. Beautiful colors and lovely landscapes.
You did it once again Rick, these are stunning shots and magnificent work! I love the reflections and it's amazing what you do to your photos, they almost look like paintings which I think is fabulous. The price of a good piece of art these days is... well it's beyond my student budget. Amazing affordable art, yup that's exactly what this is.
You're back off to Florida in a few weeks, you can't go yet, once you leave that means we get snow! Wait til about mid December k? That way I can live with the snow for about a month before I head off to work overseas. Yup, it's all about me! ;-) Have a fantastic day.
Ansel, it's your name.? Photos are provided for the program, but they are interesting. They become a work of art. You write that nestačíš all match, so that we are even. After the work is still a lot of other obligations, so I get to blog until tonight. Today I greet one step better. Perhaps here is very suitable to write about me. I can write to my e-mail: This health and whether you are doing more photos. I wish you good light! / Peter

Wow! That first photo looks like an impressionistic painting. So incredibly beautiful. Makes me wish to live in Canada in the fall...
Beautiful. Great photos from the autumn.
Love all that beauty.
Magic colors on that pictures
Colours and shots are wonderful Rick.

I know what you mean about trudging thru rain soaked grass as that is what I had been doing the last week. Only today the sun is shining again. So glad you took the time to venture to this special place to capture such a beautiful scene. What beauty the nature of Autumn brought to you. Can't wait to see the sunset.
Bonjour Marty et merci pour your kind comments ! (Isn't bilingualism grand ? ;-) I hadn't turned these images down-side-up but perhaps \i will on my laptop ;-) Yes, I found lovely bisous dans les grandes herbes - merci encore, and I reflect them back to you with much warmth. Have a wonderful vendredi !
Magda - thank you very much ! I wish you a wonderful Friday and upcoming weekend.
Thank you, Lasse !
Danke Seraphina !
Hey There Rick, see things are pretty nice at your end of the world. Yep fall did enter here too. Today is a nice and sunny day, blue sky and fluffy clouds.
Hope every body is fine in your household my friend.
Hugs D.
You gathered in this shot three nice elements: water, reflections and autumn colours.
Have a good weekend Rick! ;-)
Beautiful! I just love how that red pops.
Wow Rick. Those shots are amazing! They look like someone could have painted them! (:
The reflection is amazing Rick! Beautiful. :)
Hi Darlene - thank you for your kind comments ! I've been working with variations in HDR - it can create some beautiful effects although a few good shots at different exposures are required. Yes - days are getting shorter, wetter, and cooler and Florida beckons. But hopefully the snow is still 2 months off ;-) Enjoy a beautiful fall weekend !
Peter - thank you for your visit and nice comments. No - I'm no Ansel, but I admire his work and aspire to be a little like him. Good to see you're back at blogging - I'm working to catch up (as always ... so many people to visit, so little time). Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Thank you, Leslie - yes, the landscape sure gets a whole new paint job before winter, but Florida sure has its attractions once the snow starts blowing here ;-)
Thank you very much, Hilda !
Thanks, Ruth - this is one of my favourite places to visit, and so close to home.
Obrigado, Fábio ! Those are sumac bushes which are a very rich red at this time of year.
Thank you kindly, Stewart !
Thanks, Lisa - same vantage point as the first but I wanted to emphasize the reflections from the far shore.
Gratie, Minu ! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs. Ciao !
Thank you Carolina (more blue perhaps coming on the weekend ;-)
Painting isn't something I can do, Cloudia, but perhaps with a camera ... Mahalo, and Aloha !
Your autumn colors and reflections are stunning ... what beauty you share.
Thank you so much, Betty. Hope your weekend is a very good one - lots of warmth and sunshine !
Thanks very much, joey !
Hello Ana - nice to have you stop by for a visit. Thank you for your kind words, and please go ahead and use them as you requested. Have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing you here again.
Hi Carrie ! Thank you for your very nice comment. The pleasure was mine going out to this quiet spot and capturing some memories of autumn. I will post a few more on Sunday.
Fijn weekeind ! Groetjes.
Thank you very much, Lúcia !
Thanks, Elizabeth - we have a lot of sumacs here and they're brilliant right now !
Ha ha - yes, thank you, Saz. The Master Himself did the painting !
Thank you, Nancy - have a great weekend !
