Curses! Foiled again!

We returned to Fisherman's Village a few days ago to walk around a little, visit the shops, and check out the eateries. Seems like one of the 'locals' had similar ideas.

Normally these fine feathered fellows are wading around in the shallows seeing what's on the lunch menu. Instead, this one was checking out the back of a shop for something to eat. When he was shooed away off the loading dock, he looked entreatingly up to the shopkeeper for a handout - to no avail. A little later I spotted him on a pole by the water checking to see if there might be a morsel for him there. The last I saw of him he was winging out over the water, presumably to a more favourable eatery.

The blue in the back with #1 and the blue in the doors at#2 are my favorite colors.

Thank you, Marja ! btw - while I was born in Holland (a long time ago) I was educated in Canada. We spoke Dutch at home and I learned to read/write it on my own. Thank you for the compliment, however !

Thanks Laura - he looked like quite an experienced scavenger.

Merci very much Marty ! Cet oiseau was very co-operative pendant un moment so I could take son photo ! Et oui, I still like to show a little hiver, as well as the temperature chaud. I hope your pluie is finis maintenant ! Many warm bisous pour toi !

Thank you, Betty !

I think you're right, Lúcia - he gave up finding his lunch there. Thank you. I hope your week has been a good one.

Ha ha, this one was determined to get something to eat so he let me get fairly close Ruth.

I find them fascinating birds, Leslie - that plumage suits them so well. Thank you - he gave me ample opportunity to 'shoot' him from several angles.

Grazie per la visita e lasciando il vostro bel commento, Cri. Ciao !

Thank you kindly, Magda. I hope your week is going well.

LOL, Dag - OF COURSE I knew that ! ;-) I found a great background to catch the heron against. Oh yes, I've been in shorts, shades, and sandals for a while already (28C here). Je kunt er op rekenen - morgen stuur ik wat zon (we verwachten morgen regen, dus je mag de zon een posje hebben ;-) Groetjes !

Thank you very much, Stephanie (I love my 70-200mm lens - it lets me get real close). And I caught him scavenging as I came around a corner - almost like 'street' photography ;-)

Thanks, Saz - yep, he was struttin' his stuff !

Thank you, Stewart (I actually used my 70-200mm telephoto).

Thanks, Michelle !

Hi Cindy - very nice to hear from you again. Thank you.

Thank you, Amelia - yep, the shopkeeper must know this heron - maybe he's been caught stealing there before. Thanks for your kind words. I hope your week is going great !

Hi Laura, and thank you. The secret is a telephoto lens, and a distracted bird ;-)
