Forever Young ...

(click on the play button below the photo)

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
...
(from Flanders Fields by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, Royal Canadian Army - 3 May 1915)

"As for man, his days are like grass, As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. But truly the wind passes over it and it is gone, And its place knows it no more." (Psalm 103:15, 16)

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38)

Rick this is one of the most beautiful sunset shots I have ever seen, if not THE most beautiful! I'm wowed, you took my breath away. The words you choose are just what I needed to read, thank you.

Have a wonderful week! I'm hoping to get out to the beach sometime this week for sunset shots. The thing about being a student in a foreign country is transportation, I either walk or will now have to learn the bus system. I miss my car, but I don't.

Have a fantastic week!

Hi Rick, your sunset photo is excellent and romantic. Very beautiful.
Thanks for sharing the forever young song. We should feel young at heart always, age is but just a number.
Life is short, enjoy to the fullest.
Have a nice weekend.

Thanks for sharing those 2 scripture verses. They are so positive and are favorites of mine. Your sunset shot is beautiful and reminds me of the old hymn "Beyond the Sunset". Hope eternal. Have a blessed week. Pamela

VERY nice! I am loving this idea. You always draw our attention to the music you're thinking of, but I like how you've combined them. This, and your previous post. Great job! Great idea!

Hi Lúcia - thank you for your nice comment. Have a great week !

Thank you, Darlene ! I was inspired by some recent events. I hope by now you've been out to the beach - I need to 'visit' you to see what you've been up to. I guess you leave your woollies hanging in the closet ;-) I'm sure you're enjoying yourself there down under. Have a wonderful week.

Thanks very much, Amelia. I agree about feeling young at heart - there are days I feel like I'm 21 (or sometimes 12 ;-) I hope you're enjoying life this week !

Absolutely, Ruth - life would be quite bleak and hope-less without that comfort. Enjoy this week that the Lord has made.

Thank you, Susan (it was - blessed). Have a similarly blessed week.

They provide all the comfort we need. Thank you, Leslie.

I don't think I'm familiar with that hymn, Pamela - will look it up. Thank you for your kind words. I hope your week is also blessed.

Thank you, Stephanie !

Marty - thank you for your bon mots ce matin ! J'admire your bilinguisme - it toujours puts a smile sur mon visage ;-) Ah oui, le soleil really put on a show that soirée ! Et c'est merveilleux to sit there and see it. You are welcome au rêve. Je t'envoie many warm bisous to décongelez tu !

Thank you, Elizabeth ! (I had some late night inspiration). I hope you have a wonderful week.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Magda - thank you for your always kind words. May you also have a great week !

Thank you, Betty ! Have a great rest-of-the-week.

Hi Joseph - nice to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words - this was taken on the gulf side, and I agree that waterfront sunsets are out of this world ! (was over to visit you but no updates recently)

The quote from Flanders Field is so sad and thoughtful, Rick. It fits with your lovely photograph so well.
