[perhaps the prayers of many were answered last night - we got some much-needed rain]
The sky looked promising today with what appeared to be moisture-laden clouds. However, other than a bit of verge, they didn't release their contents on us. But they did provide the backdrop for a wonderful sunset - for which we are also thankful.
This cloud was headed east, illuminated by the late afternoon sun
Shadows lengthen as the golden hour approaches
Won't be long before the sun disappears over the horizon
Clouds to the east bask in the last light of the day
While in the west the sun's light has almost been extinguished
However, the best was yet to come
It still had to proclaim its creator's glory before the day was done
And then it bid adieu to us and bonjour to people in the west
As dark clouds started to obscure the last colour to the east

Gorgeus sky regists
Such gorgeous shots of the sky Rick. It looks absolutely stunning there. (:
All praise and Glory to the One who alone can paint such beauty. Thanks to you for capturing it and then sharing the pictures.
The progression of the sky's changes in your photos is awesome. Can't help but feel small and insignificant when you see a sky like that!
It's fascinating how the colors change as the sun sets.
What a beautiful series of photos. I find sunsets so amazing and every one is different. I always look to the east as well to see the reflection on the sky there. We had a severe thunder storm yesterday about 4:00 for over an hour. It sure rained hard! Today is sunny and a whole lot cooler. Have a great week. Blessings. Pamela
Beautifully dramatic images... I hope the rain will fall there...
Affectionate beijos with a big warm hug.
Love.
They really provided some great photos Rick.
Beautiful sunset, Rick. I love sunsets. Do I see autumn colors already? Or is that caused by the light of the sunset? Too bad that you got no rain. Thanks for your comment on my blog. Have a nice day. Greetings, Joke

Aren't autumn sunsets beautiful??
Rick thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset through your lens. The actual setting of the sun is so beautiful, you've done a magnificent job of capturing it once again!
Have a fantastic rest of the week!
gorgeous cloudscapes (and glad you're finally getting that much needed rain!)
Love your photos. Sunsets are one of my absolute favorite things to capture, especially in the fall and winter seasons (I devoted a whole gallery to sunsets this past winter: http://sjames.zenfolio.com/wintersunset).
I can't get enough of sky scenes...I like to think of them as God's canvases for us to enjoy.
