I went out walking this afternoon to find a suitable subject for today's photo. I came across an old hollowed out apple tree limb decomposing on the ground, and looked for an interesting angle to capture its texture. Sasha, our Samoyed, was intrigued by it at the same time - but she wasn't after a good angle. She's more interested in squirrels and chipmunks. Well, interested is a bit of an understatement - obsessed would be a better description.
So I turned my camera on her as she focused on bringing into daylight any squirrel she could dig out. Note: no animals were injured during the taking of these shots :)

These are great ... she looks so puzzled in the last one
What a beautiful dog! Look at her face in the last one ... one dismayed & dusty little lady!
@S.Etole - thanks Susan - yes, she does look a little dismayed that she didn't find anything :)
@Katherine - thank you; my wife says I spoil her ;-) There's nothing she likes better than to root around in the ground or old stumps. Amazingly, even if she gets all muddy, she's sparkling white again in a 1/2 hour.
I like picture #3,we never can have too many photos of our pets.Looks like a beautiful dog.
What a beautiful dog, she's so cute and what great photos of her. I especially love the first and last photo, her anticipation and the lack of results are clear on her face, so adorable!
That probably turned out better than just an angle on the tree branch. Good looking dog and great pics.
@Chad - thank you. You're right, and she is (but I'm a bit biased :)
@darlin - yes, she is and she might be a bit spoiled too - just saying, you know. She's quite a character and can manipulate us with those eyes ;-)
@Scott - yeah, that's what I decided too. Thanks for stopping by.
She's lovely, the last shows personality!
Sasha is very beautiful, she has a fantastic white fur! She looks young, how old is she?
That last shot says it all. Sasha can't win them all!
Waat een prachtige hond. Jammer dat ze niks vond. Je spreekt goed Nederlands dus schrijf ik zo.
Beautiful dog, and what super shots too.
@joey - thank you; yes, she sure does, and stubborn as a mule at times :)
@cata - thank you. Her fur is very white, except when it's muddy of course but then it returns quickly to white, usually without our help. She was the runt of the litter which may explain why she looks young, but she's actually 8 years old.
@Don - ha ha, true - but she hasn't learned that lesson yet.
@Riet - dank u wel. Ik heb hier niet veel kans om nederlands te gebruiken dus ik vind het fijn om even een paar regels bij je blog te schrijven.
@imac - thank you. on both counts :)
Nice captures.........but the reality is that a squirrel ain't nothing but a tree rat.
@Reggie - thanks for dropping by, and Sasha agrees about the tree rats :)
I really like the last picture!! Looks great in black and white.
@Julia - thanks Julia. Probably because Sasha's white, the dirt black - so I figured may as well use b&w, there was no other colour anyway :)
Oh I love her face! She must be a fun dog to have!
@HBFG - yes - she has very expressive eyes (she's a female, you know ;-)
Oh my goodness, that is a beautiful dog, Rick. I just chuckled at your photo captions...they are perfect!
@CherylK - thank you; I always find it fun to put a caption to a candid shot :)
