It rained again today, or I should say, it's still raining today. Undeterred, however, we decided to go for our planned walk to the 'back 40'. Accompanied by 5 dogs (son's - 2, daughter's - 2, ours) and our son pushing our grandson in his stroller (well it looks more like an ATV without the engine), we made our way along the path through the cedar woods. Near the end of our land, deep in the woods, we came across a relatively dry spot - sheltered by the cedar canopy. Here we tarried a while and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Moments like these with family are to be treasured.

And for fun, I thought I'd post a shot of my grandson, Graydon, and one of my daughters, Julia, in this candid (I think Graydon is wondering what sort of family he's joining):

We could use some of that rain here. What a lovely spot in the woods ... and your grandson is a cutie!
Awww, what an adorable child, he is so cute! He is the sort of a child who could bring sunshine to any rainy day.
I also love the calmness of the first photo, the colors are amazing... the sort of take my glasses off to get a better look amazing!
Love the green in the logs of the fence. So peaceful and pleasant. Cute kids too.
Beautiful photo. If I had a back 40 like that I'd never have to leave to get another shot.
@darlin - yes, he sure does; lots of that 'sunshine' today! And that spot is very peaceful - I had made note of it on an earlier walk and had it in mind today for a shot. Thank you.
@Scott - that's what I loved too. Thanks for your comment.
@Chad - thanks; we're certainly blessed to be able to enjoy such beauty around us. A lot of my shots are from here - it's always amazing what can be seen so close to home.
Love the shot of the woods, but your Grandson is a cutie.
Yup The flowers are for real, we visited a wild flower Garden complex.
I love Cedar trees, I think its because its part of Lebanon's flag.
What a cute grandson you have there!
What a beautiful little boy! Darlin stole the words right out of my mouth. Your grand son would surely be a little ray of sunshine on any given day! You are so fortunate to have such a wonderful backyard...so many memories to be made there, for all generations!
Beautiful thoughts, beautiful photo, Rick (love the moss covered woods). Your grandson's photo touched me too since today was our oldest grandson's 1st Communion day, a 'right of passage' in our family.
@imac - thank you, on both counts. Those flowers you shot were amazing which is why I had to ask.
@M - yes, the Bible talks about the cedars of Lebanon and I checked out the flag - nice reminder. I'd say our grandson was a chip off the old block, but I'm a little biased :)
@Katherine - thank you. Yes, he is a bright light in our lives. We realize how blessed we are to have him, and also a piece of the beautiful creation to enjoy and share for a time.
@joey - thank you joey. Congratulations on your grandson's 1st communion - a great and happy milestone!
Wow! Never new that the bible talked about the Cedars. Great thing to know, thanks for sharing the knowledge.
@M - yes, over 20 times; see Psalm 92:12 as an example.
