(Day 113) Liquid sunshine

I know that the best light for photography tends to be the time around sunrise and sunset, and it's rather harsh around high noon. However, I was looking at the water by the pond today and I saw how the bright sunshine was sparkling on the falling water. I wouldn't have this effect early or late in the day.

Here's my version of liquid sunshine.

You surely wouldn't have had this effect. As they say, most of the best photos every take were never planned.

@Lisa - thank you Lisa.

I think you and Scott got together and planned todays blogs. Rick you got the shutter speed just right,showing just enough detail.Very pretty photo.

Wow I would have guessed a much faster shutter speed. There is a lot of detail in this shot. I guess the timing was great for both of us. Very nice shot.

Liquid Sunshine how lovely! Is this pond on your property! A wonderful photo!

@Chad - after I went to Scott's blog I saw what you were referring to - talk about coincidence. Thanks for your comments Chad.

@Scott - thank you. I wanted to capture the sunlight glistening on the water as it fell; I managed to get the shutter speed down a little more but then lost some of the 'dancing' light so opted for this shot.

@Katherine - thank you. Yes, there are actually 2 small ponds beside the house - upper and lower - with a small (10') cascading stream between them. Endless photo ops :)

Rick do you by chance have a guest house? lol

LOVE this photo, fantastic once again.

Rick said...

@Katherine - yes - we consider ourselves truly blessed. in many ways.

@darlin - well, I did build a little cabin in the woods behind the house a couple of years ago - the dog & I sleep in it on hot summer nights when it's too hot upstairs in the house :) Maybe I'll post a shot of it one of these days. Thanks for your comments - I appreciate them.
