Now, I'm probably the furthest thing from an art expert. But as I was looking into our pond recently, I saw an image that reminded me of an impressionist painter, Claude Monet. Perhaps if he had been looking with me he might have painted something similar. When the water lilies come up a little later I might try to get a 'Monet' water lily photo.

Oh, by the way, it's one of our forsythia bushes.

Nice and Arty.
Have you ever been to his garden and lake?, its a wonderful place for photographers
@imac - thank you. No special effects - just the wind blowing a little across the water. I've never been to his garden and lake, but would love to some day - have only seen some photos on the internet. Looks like I could spend a long time there!
I would agree with you Rick ... it is Monetish! Beautiful photo!
I'm not much for modern art or the artsy fartsy type but I rather like the photo on top. Very pretty bushes, I am partial to yellow and this yellow would go perfectly with a blazer of mine! ;-)
@Katherine - thank you.
@darlin - thanks; I'll send you a sprig to wear on your lapel! :)
That's really cool. I like the Monet version better than the real thing in this case. It is fun to get creative with photography.
@Scott - thank you; I agree.
I really like the first one.
This reminds me of a post I did: http://averyandphotography.blogspot.com/2010/02/water-lilies.html
I love water lilies and can't wait to see yours.
Great work!

Scott turned me on to your blog site.You have such a wide variety of themes that it's been fun looking thru all your photos.You do a great job and I will visit often.
@Avery - thank you. Looked at your water lilies - lovely; another Monet. I'll have to wait another month or 2 till mine come up.
@Chad - thank you for visiting (thanks Scott) and for following. Doing a 365 is a challenge each day - some better than others. Thanks for your encouragement.
Hi Rick,
I see your comments on some of the blogs I visit, so decided to visit yours. I like your work! I especially like this post of the forsythia. For me, this heralds the beginning of spring where I live, and I love seeing the first bright yellow sprigs each year. Love the Monet pond reflection the best.
@Karen - thank you Karen for visiting and your positive comments. I agree re: the forsythia heralding spring - our is especially brilliant this year.
