Recently I shared a photo of our grandson Graydon. Well it was only fair that I provide equal 'exposure' for our 2 granddaughters Hailey (5) and Lilly (3). They live about a 4-hour drive from us and we were able to visit them this Mothers' Day weekend (along with their parents and our other 2 daughters, of course!).

Sunset Sunday
Perhaps you aren't aware of Scott's photo blog at Finding Another View. He has a little fun thing every Sunday where he invites people to post a Sunday Sunset. Well, as we were nearing home tonight I saw what looked to be a nice sunset getting ready. I made it home, got the fire started in the wood stove (the house was cold since outside it had dropped to 3C/37F), and snuck outside for a couple of quick shots. Here's my contribution for Sunday:

Rick your granddaughters are just adorable. What gorgeous little girls they are! Thank you so much for sharing their pretty little selves with us!!
Your sunset photo is just divine! Well, you really were surrounded with lots of beauty on mothers day! What a lucky guy you are!!
Yeah, and the circle is complete!
Love your portrait shots. Have a mini tip though: always focus on the eyes ;).
The sunset photo is amazing and very well composed!
Your granddaughters are such cutie pies!
And the sunset is AWESOME! I'll have to remember that for next Sunday!!
@Katherine - thank you Katherine, they certainly bring us a lot of joy! Our visits always end far too soon.
@M. Hassan - thanks M. I find getting candid shots of my granddaughters a real challenge because they're very active! I'm aware of the 'focus on the eyes' tip but they never sit/stand still long enough for me to do that well :) It's an area of photography I'm working on. Appreciate your comments.
Rick,
These are darling girls, aren't granddaughters the best!!!
That sunset is gorgeous! Glad you participated, hope to see one again next week.
Your granddaughters are just the cutest and sweetest!
And that sunset is fantastic. Aren't sunsets the best?! Ours are getting more difficult to catch, as they occur long after my bedtime!
What a rich day you had ... thank you for sharing it with us.
Beautiful grandkids. Love those photos. And sunsets, you can't miss with them.
Thanks for sharing as always.
@Kerri - thank you Kerri - we agree :) Look forward to a sunset photo from from you.
@Scott - they sure are (we'll see how the grandson turns out but so far he's a keeper too :) May be tough to get a sunset for next week; will try but am on the road again.
@Krista - thanks; they're at such a great age - fun to play with and no attitude; well, maybe just a bit :) I'd love to see another Yukon sunset, even if it is after 9:00 pm ;)
@S. Etole - it was rich indeed and we consider ourselves very blessed!
@POD - thank you; the pleasure was all mine! :)
Your granddaughters are adorable, Rick (and your sunset is not too shabby either)! I was blessed to share Mother's Day with my grandchildren also.
@joey - thank you joey - I'll bet yours are equally adorable! :)
There is no argument that enjoying the blessings of having grandchildren make all the challenges of parenting worthwhile. Mine, however, are not thrilled when grandma pulls out her camera!
Awww, your granddaughters are gorgeous Rick, so adorable.
Very pretty sunset as well but the girls by far stole my heart!
@Karen - agreed, and now we can sit back and watch our children raise our grandchildren while we get to enjoy them! Ha - I know what you mean re: pulling out the camera - it's not that they don't want to have their picture taken - it's the challenge of getting a shot when they're always so active! I have to try a number of times to get a shot that doesn't have motion in it.
@darlin - for sure! Our dilemma is that they live so far away, and our grandson lives 1/2 hour away! Torn between 2 places - we make the drive often.
Adorable! They look like little angels. Gorgeous sunset.
