Have I mentioned before how blessed we feel to live out in the countryside ? Oh right, probably a few times. After dinner tonight, and after walking the dog, I decided to just walk around the property a little to take a closer look at what was growing out there. I saw a number of things that might make it to a future post, but my attention was drawn to an old stone foundation - first to the rocks themselves that were still laying in the outline of a building's foundation, then to the moss on the rocks, and finally to some of the plants that had decided to eke out a living among the rocks (likely not their decision).
I made a number of photos there and figured I would have a couple to post. I turned back to the house and warmth (yes, cold again today), but along the way I came across some low bushes/shrubs with clusters of little white flowers. The setting sun cast a golden glow on them and I knew they had to make it to the blog too. Another fortuitous bit of wandering around.

@Edward - thank you Edward. It's like a small piece of paradise, but I think anyone can view their temporary place on this earth that way. Some days I 'see' better than others - still learning.

You're really blessed to be living where you are, I wish I could live in a peaceful countryside.
I live in a less active side of the town, but its not as quite as I'd like it to be and its not that interesting and spacey.

@M. Hassan - based on your photos M your area looks pretty nice too. btw I was surprised to find as much space as I did in Friesland; too bad I didn't make it to Groningen - perhaps next time :) Thanks for your comments M. Happy shooting today.
My area is nice, but what you see in the pictures in not exactly where I live, I live in a rijtjes house and there's no free space a kilometer around.
The places you see on my photos are mostly from the outskirt of the city I live in. Nederland is very nice, but not in the center of its cities or towns.

I love where I live too; right on the edge of a great meadow with creeks and trees and grass and critters!

@M. Hassan - it took us a number of years before we moved to the country (I grew up in the country - for a few years in Holland and my early years in Canada). Now you couldn't give me a home in the city - for free! I loved the towns and cities in Holland due to many historic buildings, canals, etc. btw Kampen has a beautiful park right in town. I understand your dilemma - good thing beautiful places are so nearby.
