If you're not a veggie eater, you may want to skip this part ...
Did I mention before that I wrested a veggie garden from our rocky, rock-bottom piece of land ? I know I did, and it has already yielded an abundance of (tr)eats. Every year I empty the large compost containers near the garden to work into the soil, and the soil has now been built up to about 30cm/12" above the original ground level. The first seeds into the ground were peas - in early April - and a few weeks ago I had a huge harvest of peas. The freezer has enough to last us until next year. Today I picked the johnny-come-lately's - the last of them - and I thought I'd give them a tribute here.

That is really intriguing ...
Nothing tastes much better than fresh garden peas.
Blessings,Ruth
@S. Etole - peas ... ad infinitum
@Ruth's Photo Blog - one of life's simple pleasures!
I really like your focus on these peas! It's beautiful...the light seems to filter through the pod.
One of the treats of summer is fresh peas. Spring was delayed to such a late date that we didn't plant any this year. After looking at your photo,I can at least dream.
it doesn't get much better than peas fresh from the garden...just kissed by the sun. yummmm.
great photo~ love the ethereal feel of it.
Excellent image!! Sustainability is what life is moving towards ~ looks like you have a head start on some of us :) ENJOY!
I love to take peas right of the vine and open the pod and strip them out with my teeth and taste the sweetness. This is a great shot.
Surreal and I love it :-)

@Carolyn Ford - thanks Carolyn. I experimented a bit with these. For a few, I had sharper focus, but then they looked like, well, just peas. ;-)
@Chad - I'm still always hungry after dreams like that :-) The real thing also tastes better ;-)
Peas prosper in cool weather so you might still have been able to plant them. Next year.
@chasity - I agree! And sooo much better than out of a can!
@Kerri - thank you Kerri. If we were strictly vegetarians, we'd be well on our way. However, I do enjoy a good steak or home-made burgers ...
@Scott - you'd have to fight off my granddaughters - they love doing exactly that. Thanks Scott.
@CarreraCaballo - thanks Joseph (from my 'studio' on the kitchen countertop ;-)
I don't like peas, but this is a cool shot Rick!

Yummm, Now I want to get in my car, it's 3:18am, drive the two hours it takes to get to the farm and go and check if my peas are ready yet! That's how good this photo looks Rick! :-)
@Photog Ave - maybe now you can give them a try ;-)
Thanks Avery!
@darlin - what are you doing up SO late! Way past your bedtime ;-)
I hope your crop is bountiful too - nothing like fresh peas straight from the garden!
