Well it was like that today. I was working in the garden recovering part of a flower bed that the crab grass had started to make their own. The wind had calmed down and I noticed some tulips that were begging to have their picture taken. I had to make a tough choice - continue digging out crab grass, or take a few shots. I figured that the crab grass could probably wait a little longer but the wind might not. Reluctantly (!) I put down the garden fork and got the camera. One flower lead to another, of course, so I couldn't just post the tulip - the others were pleading just as much for a little 'exposure'.
Here are a few, then. Now, where did I leave that garden fork ?

These are so awesome, Rick! I can tell how hard it was for you to put down the chores and pick up the camera. ;o) That (loss of time/space continuum) happens to me pretty much any time I pick up my camera! :o)
I really love the second shot, the colour, light and textures all mixed together are really easy on my eyes.

We are blessed by the choice you made ... the trillium (?) is my favorite.
Wow! from what I see, the beauty of the shots and those of the flowers were worth going on and on forever. I'm sure I would have done the same.. Most flowers don't live long and so, you have to capture the shot while it lasts.
I must sincerely say, I love every single photo you posted and I'm sure I'll love all the ones you didn't post.

That's sure a good roll to be on. Nice shots every one. When I bought my DSLR a plopped now a nice chunk of change for a macro lens to go with it, with just such shots in mind.

Rick amazing photos, what type of a flower is the bottom one? It's so pretty and shot beautifully. The fork.. I suggest that next time you take a photo of that when you lie it down, you won't lose it that way! :-)

Really is a tough decision, weeding....taking pictures. You made the right choice. Spring time photography should always win!

Well Rick... I totally get it...when nature starts begging you to take it's photo...you just have to do it!! The photos are amazing & the objects of your attention are absolutely glorious! You have so many beautiful things to capture right in your own (very huge) back yard!
