(Day 206) Night spot - revisited

Sun. July 25, 2010

I got to the spot I had visited a few days ago a little late tonight, and so I'm posting late. This fountain caught my attention last time so I came back to shoot it tonight. It's an ornate Italian marble fountain, named the Fulford Fountain, after a prominent founding family. Here are a couple of views.

And in honour of Sunset Sunday I'm posting this shot, taken in our backyard on June 15 this year.

I agree with you that the night lighting often make things so much more interesting. Love that sunset. I like they way it goes all the way from bright orange to blue. Thanks for another great one.

I think fountains were created for night lights. They are something special to view beneath a dark sky. Your sunset is gorgeous...what dramatic colors!

@Biana - thank you Biana. There's a group that tries to post a sunset shot, in addition to any other photos, every Sunday - see my Sunset Sunday link above in the post. Fijne dinsdag!

@Scott - I live out in the countryside where it's pretty dark after sunset so have to drive about 15 mi. to the nearest town for some night shots - but there are some interesting things there. We seem to be pretty lucky with getting nice sunsets here (although I'll never get any mountains in them ;-) Thanks Scott.

@Carolyn Ford - I agree Carolyn. I'd seen this one in daylight before - just not the same. The sunset was taken literally just after the sun set (I had some from before it set but found the light a little too intense). Thanks Carolyn!

Rick that's a wonderful sunset shot but the ones of the fountain are absolutely beautiful. With shooting them at night they look like they should be in a romantic scene in a movie! Yup me and Carlos (Carlos and I) from Il Divo splashing in the fountain! lol

@marty - thank you marty; you have so many beautiful ones in France - I must come again some day!

@Ruth's Photo Blog - well said Ruth! Each one unique, and beautiful - difficult NOT to make a lovely photo of it.

@imac - thank you mac; I do like night photography but just don't get out enough.

@darlin - thanks Darlene! Maybe you could invite Carlos over and the 2 of you could perform a duet in the fountain! ;-)
