The Journey

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of the easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

What a beautiful poem to put with that photo. Every picture has a story.

A very befitting poem for that wonderful snow scene.

Despite the snow that makes me want to walk right in and take a walk in the woods! Love Robert Frost.

un si joli poème avec une si jolie image !
je suis sûre que malgré toute cette neige,
il ne fait pas froid dans cette forêt !
le soleil brille et ce petit sentier est
à l'abri du vent ! Love it !

That poem so beautifully captures the snowy scenery and my word of the year "espy" - it's all about slowing down and catching glimpses to enrich our lives...simply beautiful!

I love Robert Frost's poetry, and this photo illustrates his poem perfectly.

Rick this is yet another one of your wonderful posts. Some mornings, when I don't view your blog the previous night, I can't wait to get up and see what brilliance you have come up with. I admire your photography and your choices of words, in this case borrowed words which go perfect with the photo. Great shot!

Enjoy your day sleepyhead, it's time to get out of bed! lol

I loved the poem, honey!
Today I saw all your posts late.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures with words as reflective.
Good Sunday to you and yours.

Thank you, Elizabeth; RF - one of my favourite poets !

Thanks, Tammy - it came to mind immediately.

Thank you Monika !

Thanks Katherine (I remembered that one from my high school days ;-)

Thanks Karin - he was (and is) my favourite.

Marty - merci beaucoup ! Yes, a quiet, sheltered path through the woods - and very near our place (but not in Florida !! ;-) Bisous de neige pour toi - mais chaud !

Thank you, Ruth.

Hi Magda - thank you; I can only take credit for posting the poem, not creating it.

Thanks Becky - I agree ;-)

Thank you Farmchick - my own musings would not be an improvement on Mr. Frost.

Thank you Cat - I seem to be drawn to peaceful scenes - the antidote to my working years !

Thanks Leslie - as I looked up the words to this one again, I tarried and ended up reading quite a few more (time well wasted !).

Ha ha, Darlene - I was long out when you added your comment; I worked hard today - I fed 20 palm trees, sprayed the hibiscus for bugs, and completed patching the concrete driveway (and got a sunburn !). Thank you for your kind words - I hope your weekend is going as well as mine !

Hi Dawn - thanks; I think that's great that your kids are learning about RF - he made a real impression on my back in high school and it's stuck !

LOL Mariiana - I'm glad it 'warmed' your heart ;-)

Obrigado para visitar and following, Fernando, and for your nice comment !

Thank you very much, Leovi !

Teca - thank you for dropping by and leaving a wonderful comment; I understand, and appreciate when you are able to visit (I too will have many demands on my time over the next 10 days). Have a lovely Sunday and I give you many warm beijos !

Soraia - obrigado !

Well Rick, what can I say... lets see, I did 3 loads of laundry after packing all of my niece's thing and shipping them off with her father, I cleaned my basement, watched 3 movies, baked a cake for tomorrows company and DIDN'T get a sunburn! ;-) I took the day off studies, I'm giving my brain some down time before I dive back in and finish up this semester in class... then it's the correspondence courses.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and careful out in that hot sun!

Whew - I got tired just reading your list ;-) I'll watch out for that sun Darlene - have a great week !
