15 minutes of ethereal glory

I find it fascinating to watch the metamorphosis that takes place at the setting of the sun. The changes in the lighting, the clouds, the colours, and the reflections occur literally by the minute. The ones posted below were made over a period of 15 minutes. Our Creator saw fit to paint a glorious end to the day. No two are alike, and if you miss today's, He provides another tomorrow for our enjoyment, until the arrival of THE glorious day.

(all shots made with a 18-55mm lens at f5.6 or f8.0, shutter speeds from 1/500 to 1/800 sec, ISO200)

Well-captured, Rick. Btw, I'm a fan of Casting Crowns. I especially love the song "Who Am I".

"..if you miss today's, He provides another tomorrow for our enjoyment, until the arrival of THE glorious day." --very well versed.

It's so great to be back. Wonderful post, as always and I'll look forward for more :-)

Hi Rick.. you're a man after my own heart. These photos are absolutely beautiful.. I just love the sky & it's ever changing beauty. Thanks for sharing .. I actually have some photos on my blog at the moment of the clouds in the setting sun. Not as good as yours but they were beautiful skies too.

Wow Rick! Those photo's are so glorious! I love watching the sun setting, it's so lovely. Always a great way to end the day. And the best bit is, it sets out the back, where my bedroom window faces, so I get to watch it. When it's not cloudy that is.. Haha.

Wonderful, Rick. Was this right before or after a storm?

And fyi -- the flowers in the pop can are wild prairie roses. :)

Awesome sky captures. Whenever I look up - it takes my mind to what lies beyond. And things yet to come. You captured it perfectly....

You did a great job capturing the changes in the sky. The color are really interesting. No two sun rises or sunsets are the same. They each bring a uniqueness to it. Thank you for sharing your experience.

You're very welcome, Soraia, and thank you too !

Hi Saz - another sunset lover ;-) Then you're lucky to have the sun set right outside your bedroom - we have the same out the back of our house - along with an unobstructed view. Thank you !

Thank you, Nancy - no, there weren't any storms - just amazing cloud formations. Thanks for the heads up on the flowers (I should have recognized them since we used to have lots when we lived in Alberta !).

Thanks Susan - ours is just to enjoy and capture - with our minds and cameras.

Beautiful. I too love a good sky. I've got a post somewhere on my blog where I took photo's of the sky in four directions over 5 minutes and the changes were amazing.
