I'm not sure if you're a Pink Floyd fan, but if you are, you'd certainly remember these lyrics (Shine On You Crazy Diamond). I had it running through my brain today so it lead me to find a reminder of those days when we were young.

Thats one cool tractor, but sorry, don't know anything about Pink Floyd :(
Great focus by the way ;)
@M - thank you. I thought the tractor was also cool so I asked for it as a Christmas gift just a few years back - wish I'd had it as a kid :)
Oh my goodness, what a fantastic photo! I love not only the tractor but your lighting as well. Please tell me how you do this, I see the numbers up there but have no idea yet how to set my camera! I have a Rebel XSi, as well as a few other cameras, I'm prepared to learn but just don't have the time.
@darlin - thank you for your kind words. I use manual mode 99% of the time so I have full control (aperture, shutter speed, white balance ...). For this photo I first used auto-focus with room lights on and pressed the shutter release button halfway down to set the focus where I wanted it. Then I set the lens to manual focus so it wouldn't re-focus. I turned the room lights off, set up a bit of 'hi-lighting' to get the effect I wanted, then set the aperture to 5.6 to get the dof I wanted, and adjusted the shutter speed to deliberately under-expose a bit. Sometimes I'll experiment with slightly different settings till I get the effect I want. (Are you sorry you asked ? :) You'll pick this up quickly by a) reading the manual, b) experimenting. Enjoy.
What a fantastic old tractor! :o) I, too like the lighting and really like that little bit of reflection you got, too.
@Krista - thanks. Would you believe - it's a toy tractor!
Nice DoF, colors and reflection. Perfect!
Thanks Daniel.
lol... yep... I'd believe it. :o)
